FP Race manifold or SBR cast manifold?

Anyone have any feedback on the new manifold that SBR is selling?

"Yet another high quality product from the folks at HAFE Performance. Their cast S.S. Evo VIII & IX T3 manifolds are doing so well, we asked them to reproduce our DSM manifold the way they want to!

DSM Manifold now in Stainless Steel, that's right! Stronger and will not rust. You can also polish this baby (or have us do it) and they shine up nice!

Do not worry about any cracking on this manifold, with 300 series stainless being uses PLUS .25" thick walls! Plenty of room for porting and this offers lots of strength! "

Putting the gate on the turbine volute between the manifold and the wheel is optimal for boost control, not on a single isolated runner prior to the turbine. You want as laminar flow as possible to draw off of to decrease turbulence and inefficiency in the turbine housing. Reversion causes this turbulence and inefficiency. Get an FP Race manifold, and put the gate where it belongs, not where it's easy to place.

Damn this thread delivers! While we're discussing which manifold to get I suppose I'll throw in my .02c then. I've ordered parts from many DSM vendors and sometimes things get a little out of hand or mistakes are made. No big deal that's life. SBR has continually managed to screw me over and over again to the point that I'll never purchase another part from them. TERRIBLE customer service. Think about that before you buy.

in my opinion i would go with the fp manifold. putting the wastegate issue aside, the route the air travels is much smoother than in the sbr manifold. either way the difference in in power probably won't be a ton in either direction. the FP manifold is a quality piece and i bet they are much easier to work with. the only people worth talking to from sbr are no longer there anyway so i'd take my business somewhere else.

Hands down get the FP manifold. the sbr manifold is nice but is brittle I highly dislike it the new FP manifold is the new hottest thing it has the characteristics of a tubular manifold in a nice cast piece. and if you do some searching youll find its more efficient to run a wastegate off the o2 instead of 1 runner ihear the new FP .manifold is well worth the money. I have

Thats just what I've heard , I plan on buying one in the future from what I hear its a great piece and i haven't seen anything much good come from the SBR piece although there are some people who haven't had any problems. I have absolutly nothing Against Slowboy racing, I just prefer the Fp cast maifold over the sbr Manifold.

Ouch, $419 for a mani that is still based on the crappy flowing stock design. You need to point your brower in this direction, cheeper & a much, much better design ;) :

It's not such a bad design (wastegate not at the collector sucks) but the cost is ridiculous for what it does. I could understand if it was a thick stainless steel tubular manifold but not a stock-style manifold.

Surprisingly enough it looks just like slowboy's old mani which makes me believe there is some sort of joint venture between slowboy and hafe which definitely makes me automatically hate hafe.

I did finally buy a HAFE manifold (not installed yet). I ended up getting it for 295 shipped. It looks really nice, and it's actually made by Bullseye. The reason I wanted a stock style manifold is that I wanted to retain the heatshield, after reading about melted fans, trashed alternators, etc., from overheating. Here's a link to Bullseye Manufacturing, showing the manifold I've got.

I'm stoked if the FP similar to the DNP. Before my DNP cracked at the weld on the wastegate runner (100 miles) I was seeing 49lbs/min as oppose to 45 on my sbr manifold. The spoolup was ~300 rpms slower but I sure felt the power up top.
