hi all
i have a stock 7bolt with arp head studs..how much boost can i safely run with a FP Green?

whoops done and done

1g BOV
660cc injectors
AEM fuel management
3" exhaust
ported stock o2 housing
FMIC

disregarding your tune...that motor will handle 400+whp

Now, with a good tune and you are sure there is no knock you should have no problem putting 25+psi through that motor.

If you have no idea wha you are doing then keep it below 20psi.

Do you have a wideband?

AEM Fuel Management? as in AEM EMS?? orrrrrr..

really! so 25psi on stock 7bolt is no problem at all? (with good tune of course)

yes i have the AEM UEGO and AEM EMS

Im asking because i have been tuning for 20psi. but it is boost creeping to 25psi in 3rd gear. :(

It sounds like you probably know what you are doing or have someone that knows what they are doing so i would say go for it. Sure...you start pushing things hard and something might give. But i feel very confident that you can handle 25+psi on that setup. Do it slowly and make sure everything is perfect before you keep upping the boost.

Not uncommon to see 450whp from a stock 7 bolt. Many guys are pushing stock 6 bolts well well over 500whp these days on E85.

Have fun.

The Green loses effeciency after 27psi so 25psi would be good enough.

Btw are you on the Dallasdsm.org board?

excellent!

This is my first 7bolt(and first 2g). Ive had 3 1g's previously. But this is the first non-SAFC car ive had, so quite the learning experience. I guess if 25psi is safe i wont worry to much about the boost creep for now :)

You do realize stock 7 bolts start to reaalllllly be pushing the limit after 20 psi. Put some ARP bolts and a stronger headgasket, then take it to the dyno to see how much psi you can safely run.

maybe it is....but i ran my 7 bolt for 2 seasons of drag racing at 23psi on a supra side mount with meth injection and had no problems whatsoever.

I might have been lucky and i probably was...but so what. You gotta pay to play.:D

Too broad of a statement. 7 bolt motors are still stout as hell, and will last a long time, well tuned, at 20+ psi.

I'll be exploring how much boost I can run out of a Green on a stock motor on pumpgas soon enough.
