Found another DSM

Ok, I've kept looking, ( ya didnt seem to like the idea of that 93 eclipse n/t ) And I found another car I think is good.... Its a hell of a lot more and still non-turboed! I found a 95 2g Eclipse n/t w/ a manual... The best part was the engine was fully rebuilt less than 200 miles ago... They are asking 3k for it... what do you say???

If you like driving pretty slow go for it. A few years back I sold a 96 nt with 100k for 3300 so it's probably a good price. Just remember, you will want a turbo soon. Then you have to sell a n/t, which is damn hard.

BWHAHAHA :laugh: a HRC stage 2 kit can BARELY BEAT A STOCK GST. Which is sad because the HRC kit is about $3000.

It's a decent price, But why are they selling it if they just had the motor fully rebuilt less then 200 miles ago?

I think if you want a turbo car, You should buy a car that comes stock with a turbo, Anything else is a waste or money for the hp if you are going to turbo it.

you can find a very nice 1g AWD turbo for 3k
I've even seen turbo 2gs for 3k

No chance in hell of my finding one, if i did I would find a 1g in not running condition that was in a wreck and have to pay 3k still.. completely serious, YOU CAN NOT FIND ONE HERE! Hes selling it at the price because he bought it as a second car, from some guy in not-running condition, so he bought it, a new engine, rebuilt that engine, stuck it in, drove 200 miles, figured out he couldnt afford a second car *shrug* thats what he told me....

Also.. fast is nice, but its not everything, reliablity and looks are far more important. Rather have a good looking safe reliable car than an old 1g thats been in 4 wrecks, looks like shit, and have 230k miles....

DSM's are everywhere. Maybe not in the numbers as to where you see 3 AWD dsm's in one day, BUT I guarantee there's a butt load in Amarillo just up the road. Wrecked 4 times with 230K miles? You've obviously never drove a AWD dsm., if you had you'd know that.....most likely a person WON'T wreck one, they handle like a Go-Cart on steriods.

I drove 7 hrs one way for my GSX. I'd do it again in a split second. I wouldn't drive across town to even "look" at a N/T car.

Dunno how far you are willing to travel. But my 95 gst is in the classifieds, and i'm in NC. Needs a lot of general maintenance stuff, but it drives very well. I"ve driven it everyday and still do. 125k grey leather gst. Tried to keep it in the best shape I could afford to. Just recently been layed off. It's a five speed. Looks like shit because of the paint. Do you guys think 3500 for a jan 95 car with 125k is a decent price? And yes I would trust driving this car across country.

Didnt expect to find one in Canyon man.. I drive through Amarillo all the time, check classifieds, check car lots... not just in Amarillo either, I've been to Lubbock to... They are freakin rare here in hillybilly country.. hell, I dont even see many N/T is good condition.... unless I want to pay over 10k or spend like 3k on one thats got over 200k miles... my friend bought a 92 Eclipse 1.8 with 200k for $2,000... and thats from a big ass car dealer... come on to Amarillo some time and see if you find a DSM somewhere.....

I wouldn't buy an nt eclipse. All the problems of an eclipse w/o the turbo fun doesn't seem worth it.

I have to agree with everyone above on this one. I was big into the n/t because that's what I had, but once I drove a modded 98 GSX, I was sold and feel stupid for all the money I threw into things like a CAI, header and catback. While my GS was incredibly reliable, it stopped being fun. Save your pennies, buy a GS-T or GSX, mod it responsibly and you'll have much more fun.

i flew 2500 miles and then drove mine home...sometimes you have to go to where they are, dont expect one to pop up 2 miles away....untill after you made that kidna trek...then you will see 3 for sale in your town ( god hates me)

Listen to this, i live in philadelphia. There is a shop call XAT Motorsports in Tampa Florida. Well, i sent them $14,000 through a certified bank check, and waited two months for them to build my s14 240sx. I then flew down there , once it was done, hoping that i wasnt getting scammed, (although i knew i wasnt, as they sent me pics every couple days to ensure progress). They picked me up at the airport in there shuttle, brought me to my new car, and i drove home.... Have faith in things, and road trips are fun, just dont forget some cd's and a phat sac and you will be good.

You're not looking in the right place, I find eclipses with turbo's all over texas, nebraska, arizona.... there's plenty of them if you look in the right places... don't buy a N/T unless you want a N/T because it costs more to buy a N/T (3000) and add turbo (3000 more, for a total of 6000) than to buy a turbo (I paid 2000 for a wrecked '95 GSX, when I say wrecked, I mean rear-ended) keep your eyes open, you can find a decent car.

Don't waste your time with a NT, my friend had a 1g turbo. WOW I loved it! Though I loved the look of the 2g. So i decided I was going to buy one! They had 4 of them at the used Nissan lot 3 gs's and a rs. When I drove one, all i could think was, "Man theres gotta be something wrong with this car"! but they all drove the same. Though I almost bought it anyways, because Im stupid like that sometimes.
2 days later when I was going to sign for one, I drove by a used car dealership that had a 2g GSX. I whipped a sh1tty so fast into the dealership parking lot, i almost hit a car :laugh:

Jumped out, grabbed a dealer. Told him I wanted to test drive the car, he told me someone made a offer for a NT trade for it. And he was going to go to the bank for a loan, and would be back shortly. I asked how much money he put down on it. The dealer said nothing, but he realy wanted it, and they already looked over his car for trade. I said great! Heres a check for 500 hundered, be back in 10 mins. I was never happier in my decsion.

After that, I see 1g's and 2g turbos all over the place. I guess I just had to be more passionate about my car to notice. You just need to know where to look. Any of these close by?

Shady... your story has touched me I dont know, I want a turbo as much as you all do... but I just dont see them, I'll keep an I open... (I still gotta wait fo suim tax refund ) I'm going looking again today also.... but I guarentee if I find one, I will be all over it.... but If I dont, then I just might have to go N/T... we'll see soon, thanks for your input..
