Flex plate problems

I recently bought a 97 GST with no engine. I bought a 95 engine and dropped it i had a time getting the flexplate bolts in but after replacing both crank and cam sensors- got it firing. I had a grinding when starting. Starter bendix wasn't fully contacting torque converter teeth. Got to looking and realized the flexplate was on backwards when I bought the engine. Best plan? Pull engine back out? Or pull transmission?

I'm not sure if you already got this taken care of, but the easiest thing, I think, to do would be to unbolt the transmission and drop it. Then you should be able to switch that flexplate around from there.
