Ok, I finally got my talon out of the shop. I went to start it and come to find out, my starter eats the crap out of my flywheel/flex plate. It is an automatic transmission in a 97 eagle talon tsi. What I am wondering is, do I ave to replace the torque converter as well as the flex plate? I was told by the mechanic that I probably would have to,but he has never worked with the automatic talon. I need a 100% sure answer or as close to it as possible cause I am going to buy the part after I figure out the deal. I know I already need a starter. I was just told that the talon has a flexplate that is welded or made to the torque converter itself and the only way to replace it is to buy the whole converter assy. Thank you!
Oh it is 7 bolt by the way.
