1G 6 bolt flex plate parts question

Im looking for the diagram of what i need for the flexplate.. i know there are bolts(obviously) and i think a spacer or bushing of some kind... Just want to make sure I have everything i need when I start building.

Lol, I'm I'm the process myself of locating what is needed. I'm have a difficult time.

You need:
6 bolt Flex plate
Flex plate bushings(2)
Flex plate to crank bolts
Torque converter bolts
1 crank center bushing

Also there is a write up on this in the resource section. I believe it's inder tech topics. Could be wrong. Took me awhile to find it. I destroyed my 1gb 7bolt so I'm doing my 6 bolt build/swap sooner than expected.

ok i have the flex plate and the torque converter bolts, ordering the flexplate to crank bolts and JNZ has the bushings listed as spacers I believe.... i think thats where my confusion is.. i wrote spacers and someone told me bushings... I know there is a blow out diagram somewhere that shows the assembly, i just cant find it at the moment

The spacers/bushings go in front of and behind flex plate and then there is a bushing that goes in the crank! I'm trying to find the article on this. It has a diagram in it that someone posted.

Don't forget the flywheel spacer plate and the pilot bushing for the back of the crank!!!

Crack me up....make me sound as old as I am...
Glad you had that on the list too. I am lucky, my son has the automatic car so I have been around them enough to know that these cars take a pilot bushing for the auto's not the stick like all other cars. You guys make sure to check out your flexplates for any cracking before you install them. The son had a crack that got worse and sounded like a rod knocking. Ended up being 2 webs that were broke. Just fyi guys!!! (wish I had an auto also).

I feel like an old Mr. Wilson a times too!! Yes,glad you mentioned inspecting the flex plate. A small crack or amount of flex makes a whole hell of a lot of noise for sure.

We were sure the motor was knocking until we got the engine separated and saw what was BARELY hanging on and glad it WASN'T a rod knock. He thought about sandwiching 2 plates together and then bit the bullet and got a Kiggly plate because of the HP he was making.

Yeah, working in transmission shops over the years I've heard that sound many times and people say the same thing I think my motor is knocking. Unbolt torque converter bolts and push converter back into the pump and see if it continues or see if the flex plate is FUBAR!! Glad that's all it was vs a rod! I've have that issue and damn sure don't like it.

I'm not sure! I would definitely think no matter what flex plate you go with you have to have the crank bushing for sure.

I am pretty sure we did use the spacers, but I know my son talked with Kiggly about all of that before we put it back together. He isn't on the forum much, but I will ask him the next time I talk to him. He DID use Kiggly flex plate bolts for the crank.
