just got done final cleaning my block preparing for this coming weekend for the installation of my bottom end....i was doing this for about an hour when i noticed surface rust starting to form...just a little amount mainly on the deck and the main caps...how would i get this off...and if i store my block in a garbage bag till next wknd(the block will be stored in my sunroom in a closed area)will the rust continue to form? I just got the machine work done about a month ago so i really dont want this to ruin anyting.

steel wool with a light touch. i would spray the block down with wd-40 anywhere that's exposed that has to be kept clean.

where would i get the brushes to do this? And where are the oil galley plugs located? Sorry for the dumb questions. And i also noticed the blue towels leave behind a little lint, will this hurt ne thing? Will the wd-40 prevent rusting so fast, i mean it was like 10 mins and it was starting to form. I was wondering cause i wanted to build my block outside underneath my car port, but if not i have the means to build it in a enclosed place.

the oil galley plugs you will see whan you look around the block, they will take an Allen wrench to remove.

the blue shop towels are Lint free, but they may leave a fiber or three behind, but much less than the household white paper towels.

you can get a chep gun brush kit from any gun shop, wal mart or sporting good store.

if you go to a gun shop, you can buy brushes in diffrent sizes.
Summit, jegs sell an engine cleaning kit also
