few cam questions

Advertised duration figures .. "272*" without any sort of qualifying information for example, tells you very little about the cam.

As far as the way they are made, start by calling a vendor or the manufacturer.

You can get the Kelford clone cams from Delta cam.

IIRC, you can get them on new blanks or as regrinds.

You will also have to step up the springs to match the cam grind, a good set of beehives is the way to go.

Yes.

Something along the lines of Kiggley, GSC5041, Beemads

The ramps on the Kelfords are to aggressive for a straight single spring.

I actually called Delta about the K272s. They told me i had to send in a good core. NOT stock cams. They said my Crower 272s would do just fine. Total price for conversion 70 per cam. I dont think they offer k272s anymore without a good aftermarket core. You cant just buy them outright. This info is about 3 to 5 months old so maybe things have changed.

Good information to know, seeing I still have time to make a choice gonna do some more research on cams so much to pick from, things keep changing so they don't want stock cams sent it? Looks like they want good aftermarket ones.

yea, i see it like this: If you're in the market for Kelfords, buy Kelfords. If you have a set of BC 272s you want to beef up, its only an extra 140 bucks. I forget how much my Crowers were but they werent that cheap. Still, you dont get much selling them used so this would be a good investment for a lot of people. Would be nice if they did they same deal on stock cams though right??:rocks:

yes I have some stock cams lying around, so ill buy cams once for my goals I like the kelfords, bcs and a friend runs the forced performance cams, but still looking around, was going with regrinds from delta, no rush.
