Just for kicks, whos got The fastest car with the fewest amount of "relevent" mods? I went to Rockingham NC 1/4 {street wars} mile track sunday and was surprised at the time I ran. There was alot of cars that day and I believe I might of been the second fastest car on street tires at the entire event. It was about 90* that day and humid. I have an oil leaking stock motor, apexi filter, apexi 3" o2 back, uicp/1g bov, mbc, fidanza flywheel, centerforce clutch, stock side mount, stock injectors, no tune, walbro 190 no rewire, sh*ty tires

I am about 99% sure I could of pulled off a 12 but the weather,spinning 1st gear, and something going on at the top of 4th gear, it wasnt hapnin' that day

A few years ago a local went 13.4 on a bone stock 92awd car. Still had paper filter. It had a manual boost controller at 15 psi. I drove the car when he first bought it. Very strong car, very quiet.

Thats really good for a t25. And thats some good driving too...that low of an et for that low mph. Good job!

Is their no tech inspection @ the rock?

In Colorado @ bandimer if you have an oil leak you can't leave your car in the parking lot, let alone put it on the track.

one local with a 1g fwd got a 12.9 with slicks, safc, downpipe, mbc and race gas. Another local got a mid 12 with an awd with a safc, pump, downpipe, mbc and race gas also.

In Colorado @ bandimer if you have an oil leak you can't leave your car in the parking lot, let alone put it on the track.

well it only leaks if it sits for while, you know how that goes. even then it aint too much. damn synthetic! Im gonna be doing an overhaul soon with new gaskets and what not. But they do inspections there too, the guy flew around my car and it was done! Didnt even pop my hood.

That's crazy nice! The PO of my 97 TSi AWD went 13.8 @ 97 with a 1.8 60' with MBC @ 17psi, Injen intake, ACT 2100.

I think 'Project Goodwill' takes the cake for this though. $5000 in mods including the 90 Laser FWD turbo, still on a 14b went 10's. 94tsiawd on the forums I believe.

My friend has less than 1K into his car including buying it and ran a 13.2, only mods were MBC 15PSI, boost gauge, we dropped the exhaust and ran open downpipe, K&N filter I am hoping to get around the same results ~13.4's with 3" exhaust, K&N, and MBC set to 15PSI both on 91 pump gas too. I managed a 14.2 on just pump gas, filter, and exhaust.

I got one better act 2100 clutch, 20psi from a boost controller, HRC o2 eliminator down pipe, atr cat-back exhaust, maybe a 190 fuel pump. 12.83 or 12.87 @104.3 or 104.7w/ a 1.7X short time. The car really just layed down on topend. It was 2+ years ago, when I 1st got my talon. Sam the old owner, said he went 12.6 @106.

That worked so well and was the most reliable I ever owned untill that long 5th gear pull.
4th Piston just let go, ringlands were toast when I tooked them out ot look at what was wrong. I'm actully building a 14b car now, but it' will be more stock appearing then actually stock. I'm hopping for low 12s on the motor, and 11s on the spray whenever it get's around to it. If the gsx won't dip into the 11s. I still have the 20g now, in the talon.

Yeah it was Steve, he is hoping to hit 12's soon here. I wanna see what mine will do but can't till I get some problems fixed, the car vibrates at higher speeds.

This car(1991 tsi awd) has a k&n air filter, mbc set at 16 PSI, walbro 255 fuel pump, 14B turbo, and street tires. All of this through the stock exhaust(knocked out cat) and full body weight with all interior - the spare tire and 170k miles on the car.

thats a few more mods than I was refering to! e manage! water injection, 550s, external gate, Im sure he has a few others if he got e manage! But good times none the less!

I realized a few weeks after my run that the newer side mount I had put on was leaking like hell too, so who knows what I could have ran

a local guy named dave ran a 12.49 with only a built engine and weight loss. He put his car completely back to stock to pass smog, so he was on stock injectors, stock turbo, stock smic, stock intake pipe, stock upper and lower intercooler piping, stock intake manifold, stock throttle body, stock EVERYTHING, except his pistsons and rods. I also believe he had an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, but I don't know if it was just painted black and stock, or some regulator I've never seen.


basically: 12.49 with built bottom end, and probably a fpr.

I still don't believe it, and I saw it with my own eyes. Ill find his post really quick.

Yes, I had some good runs. Best was a 12.498 @109.61mph. Not bad for a stock 14b, stock injectors, stock sidemount IC and IC piping, hacked 1G MAF, and stock turbo inlet.

I wonder if I can hit an 11 if I upgrade to a 2G MAF and 3" intake and take out another 100 pounds? Should I go for it?

Yea, but I'd be willing to bet it's "one of" if not "the" fastest time ever to be run on completely stock ic piping and sidemount.

are we talking about a 1g or 2? Cause I dont think the stock piping is near as restrictive on the 1gs. Anyway he got me by a tenth. And the water injection makes up for his lack of a front mount. ALL I have is an exhaust, intake, and upper pipe. still on the lower stock one. Never the less there all good times. I was gettin heak soaked so bad that day I might as well been running no intercooler. Just before the finnish line my turbo would just give up.
