Fastener Torque Values [Merged 3-9] value tightness torques specs specifications

I changed my leaky oil pan gasket not long ago and it is still leaking. I used red rtv as the gasket and ran a nice continuous bead around the whole pan making a circle around each bolt hole. I think the two mistakes I made were not waiting for the RTV to dry before putting the pan back on, and I think I tightened the bolts too much ( I ended up breaking one of them).
I'm gonna buy a torque wrench and make sure they are right this time... how much torque do the pan bolts require? How long should I let the RTV dry this time before putting the pan back on?

The recommended torque spec that is in my shop manual seems way too low for the bolts that connect the turbo to the manifold. Does anyone know what the torque spec is for these bolts?

Damn..really? Surpise, the manual is right then! Those things were very difficult to remove so I figured they were torqued very high. I guess i'm wrong then.

The FSM calls for 40-47ft/lbs of torque to be used on the turbo to manifold bolts. I wouldn't trust a Chiltons/Haynes manual for shit but diagrams.

If you are talking about the four bolts that secure the flex plate to the torque converter on a 2G turbo automatic transmission, it is 33-38 ft. lbs.

that picture for the main bearings is from the 1g 92 and a half to 94 manual picture. I'm looking in a 90 and 91 manual and it does not show a torque sequence for the main bearings..... what the heck....... am i blind?

Just curious where you got these from because in my Chilton's (for a 2g) for the exhaust manifold to head nuts it says to torque them down to 36 ft/lbs. Now I torqued them down to 21 ft/lbs just so I don't snap off another stud inside the head, but what ft/lb is correct?
