Hello today i come with an exhaust manifold question. When i bought my Gs-t it came with a crx racing 20g and a tubular manifold. Yes i do know this is not the greatest turbo but i am trying to upgrade to a legit 16/20g but i am on a budget due to financial issues. The thing is that here in az its starting to heat up again and like the past summer my manifold is heating up and melting my driver side fan causing temps to go up in the engine bay. I am looking to buy an oem manifold to be able to mount a heat shield but my question here is, will an oem manifold fit with my awful cx racing 20g ?

If your turbo on the car now is dsm flanged and not t3 or anything else. The dsm flange is the round one. Any 1g or 2g mani will work. Even a evo mani will work but with some porting. A forced performance mani will fit but has no heat shield. You should be able to find a 2g mani for around 50 bucks. They dont crack as easy. Have you tried heat wraping your tubular?

i did not buy this turbo my self but im guessing its this one cxracing.com: TD05 Big 20G Turbocharger ,oil and water cooled, Fits 89-99 1G 2G Eclipse, Talon, Laser now will either a 1g or 2g fit?

Thanks for replying and well i dont know if you checked the link but it does look like the dsm flange but you may know better. And yes i have but i guess the desert heat is not helping.

so i bought a 2g EM now i need to order the studs and then install it. Thanks again everyone for your help!

So today the ARP bolts came in and i was excited to put everything back together. After tightening the manifold to the engine i proceeded to tighten it to the turbo, all the bolts went in fine but 3 of them reached a point where i couldnt tighten em any more. I decided to pull them back out to find out the bolts were stripped and so was my turbo hotside...=(. My local orrelys has a helli coil kit should i go with that? This is my daily driver so i cant have it down for a long time as i need it to get to work. Where can i locally buy bolts hard enough? i Cant wait for another set of ARP's to be shipped in. thanks for all the help in advance.

have you tried calling autozone, napa auto parts, or anything of the like? I was uber surprised to find out the OEM parts that were offered by my local autozone. What's super cool about Autozone they can search other stores for local stock or order it for you and the shipping is super free and you can get it with 1 to three business days.
