changing out my exhaust manifold gasket, I know my valve stem seals are starting to go out. I didn't know how many though until I looked into the head, seems all the exhaust valves have oil on them. Will changing the gasket still just seep oil? look at the mess it has made....:hmm:

It may stop it for a little bit if you clean all that mess up. But once you start boosting again or even just running the car it will start to seep out again. It would be best to get the seals changed because they will only get worse bro.

damn it, wasn't planning on doing the head till next February. I can't do much anyways its the DD so I'm going to just baby it I guess. how fun.

also in the picture, top first exhaust stud is broken off in there thanks to PO. It is also seeping oil from there as well.

The better a seal you can get on the new gasket might by you some time. but there's not much you can do to stop oil from blowing thru again. Plus if its not leaking out the gasket it's still blowing thru your turbo and exhaust system. Atleast your turbo looks dry bro the 14b is still going strong.

it definitely got by because the first top exhaust stud was broken and the third lower stud wasn't even there. who knows wtf PO did to it. I know not having those 2 studs not torqued was also causing the exhaust leak and then space for the oil to seep. I'm going to be trying to ez out that top first stud.

yeah the 14b is good, no shaft play just taking the hotside, o2, and 2g manifold for some fun homemade porting:thumb:

Cool bro I did a full port job on the 14b on my gvr4. Was definitely worth it and was fun to do, if you like that sorta stuff LOL. Just be carful drilling those out, us a center punch so you make sure your drilling perfectly straight. I've had a couple broke studs before. They aren't to bad to get out just take your time bro.

yeah I slightly ported the o2 housing and manifold already and could feel a difference in the higher rpm it was great. so since the manifold is off again might as well do the hotside of 14b open it up.

and yeah i will take my time on that one stud, thats the only one I need to get out LOL then i can put all new ones in to try and torque down and get a good seal.:hellyeah:
