Exhaust manifold gasket

Will a old exhaust manifold gasket cause bad smell on the exhaust?I Smell to much gas.And before two days when i put my 3"downpipe and cat back was smelling on gas even when i open my windows ? Now I am with the stock system.but still smell gas on the back of the exhaust .What can cause this?

it depends, if it had a crack or was warped then exhaust gas may be leaking out of it. doble check your gaskets cus it might be one of the exhaust flange gaskets that are cracked as well

One of my exhaust studs is broken and before time i have removed the manifold and havent change the gasket and my car got 192 000 milies on it. But can something else to cause this? And when you put 3"downpipe with out cat do i need SAFC or somthing ?

if it has a leek i would change it anyway fix the stud its like $30 for a chance to fix it

i will fixed by my self just have to buy the stud and which gasket is good to use

A bad o2 sensor may be making the ECU think you're running lean, so it's adding extra gas. You may need to replace the front o2 sensor. If you had a logger of some sort, you could check the voltage being output by the o2 sensor to see if it's still working.

If you are missing a stud and the gasket has been re-used and may be bad you could have a leak. This will let air into the exhaust and the O2 sensor will see a lean condition so the computer will richen the mixture leading to poor milage and stinky exhaust. Fix the manifold and see what happens.

ok i will fix the manifold first and for the o2 sensor i just changed befor 10 000 milies

no you do not need to run an afc when running a turbo back only when you start mess with the air / fuel mix... i personally never reuse gaskets its just another link of the chain your making weak... but the exhaust leak will cause your cabin to fill with fumes if in the right spot.
