Exhaust Manifold gasket reusable?

I would imagine the answer is "no".

However, I have 4 used ones laying around because of the previous owner trying to rig the exhaust manifold....figured that I would just ask.

If its the 4 layer stainless steel gasket or a copper gasket then those can be reused but if its the cheap graphite engine kit gaskets no

All 4 are made of some sort of metal. Will take some pics tomorrow. Thanks for your time.

I have had no problems reusing the steel multi layers. Just inspect it for any damage before putting it back on.

Today I reused my 4 layer head to mani gasket and also my ss mani to turbo gasket.

I always make sure all surfaces are very clean and flat. Also I give the gasket (ss turbo gasket) a good buff before I reuse it.

Everything is good no problems

Hmmm...the number "4" just hit me in the head. Would it appear to be 4 gaskets to those not in the know? Maybe I thought it was 4 gaskets and that is really a 4 layer gasket?

Usually a four layer gasket has the four layers riveted together in two corners. If they are taken apart, I would think that it should still work.....as long as they are all clean and undamaged.

I've had the same 4 layer copper SBR gasket for 12 years and 15- 20 installs. Never checked,cleaned,ect.... Just slap it on and it still seals like day 1.
