Exhaust manifold gasket question

I bought an evo style MLS exhaust manifold gasket from extreme psi for my 2g. Well today when I took it back apart I noticed the gasket is larger than the ports on the head ( looks like a 1g gasket) the overlap of the gasket and manifold is very minimal and I don't think it will do a good job of sealing up. What are some of your opinions on the overlap and is there a 4-ply mls gasket made for the 2g head specifically?

Thats how the gaskets are. Even the cheap Fel-Pro from the parts store is like this.

It still wouldn't help the minimal overlap is on The manifold.
so the overlap is enough to seal it?
