I am in the middle of my EVO 9 OFH swap into my 2g to make space for my 3" turbo-back setup. I have read where many DSMers port the pressure relief valve orifice in order to deal with the higher pressure that is seen with this swap. My question: why not just swap the pressure relief valve/spring from the 2g OFH into the EVO housing? The port location is identical between the two housings.

What am I missing that makes this a non-viable solution? Has someone tried this and continued to run into high oil pressure?

Okay, so the issue is not with the relief setup in the EVO housing being different from the one in the stock housing. Everything I know about using the EVO9 OFH I learned from turbosax2's information

If the balance shaft removal is the cause of the high oil pressure, then I would not have expected so much conversation in the forum conversation regarding the OFH swap and oil pressure. Turbosax2 makes it seems to imply that the high pressure was the result of the EVO OFH.

I would have asked directly in his conversation, but I have not yet earned that right. Yeah, I have been a lurker for years. Shame on me.

The relief valves are identical. The cause of my high oil pressure is due to the BSE, not the Evo OFH. I purposely did not port the Evo OFH before installing just to see what would happen; I now know that it should be ported because of the BSE, just as you would a stock OFH.

Nope it all has to do with BSEs. If you haven't, slap it on and go.
