EPROM needed?

I am fixing to be swapping in a 6bolt into my car. I have ran a few searches on this subject but the only answers i could find were on the subject of DSMLink. My question is do i need the ECU out of a appropriate year car? Or will the ecu out of my '98 work ok?

I have read the 7bolt to 6bolt threads that the searches have found, but i havent found the info on if i need a EPROM ecu for the swap, this is just to get the car running, tuning will not be a serious issue to me for about 2months.

to use a dsmlink - u need a EPROM - there found mainly in 95's and a few 96's

As far as I know you can use the ecu out of your 98 for the 6 bolt swap. But you will more then likely keep gettin a cel for misfire & I think some people also have other issues?. DSMLink will cure this but to run it you do need an eprom ecu and they were only in the 95's and I was told that not every 95 had one.
