eprom?

i have a 91 tsi and was wondering how i go about tuning my eprom ecu? Also at what point to i have to change my tune as far as upgrades? i am new to dsm all around so anything would help.

If you are going to "tune" your EPROM the. You need a burnable chip or go with ECMlink or dsmap.

That's a little misleading. For the STOCK turbo then yes, anything over 15psi WITH a new fuel system.

Tune when you put new injectors on or mess with the fuel pressure or even fuel type (pump going to ethanol). Also tune when you increase airflow, change piston compression, cam lift/duration, timing, etc.

Good catch Liquid. Yes you will need to upgrade the fuel system at that point.

i am pretty sure i do... i have an ecu out of a 90 and out of a 91 the 90 has no chip in the bottom right corner and the 91 does

In 1G's I thought only 90's had the eprom. I have a 91 GSX and will check mine this week.

Yeah, I've seen both versions of EPROM and non EPROM in 90 and 91. Always worth checking.


Then of course you have the option of eprom conversion now.

For the DIY cable? or just to use a palm? Also there are tons of palm cables around that you could also throw an adapter on and use for your laptop.

I should just use an adapter for the palm cable..Well I would have to find the cable first..I looked on ebay today, the only cable i found was 75 bux..
