I have a 1g talon and am running a 2g maf. I need a eprom computer. My question is can I swap my 1g ecu with a 2g eprom if im running the 2g maf? I was told I need a 1g ecu, is this correct?

Do you want to get an eprom to chip it?

Im running and 2g maf with 580's and an afc with a non-eprom and it runs awesome.

But if you want an eprom get a 91-94 off ebay, there not too badly priced

It's funny how i find so many people going through the same situation as myself...

I got a 90 TSI AWD that came with a non-eprom ecu, and i was thinking about what i could do to be able to monitor / tune my dsm. The top two choices were..

1. Get a 91-94 Eprom ECU + DSMlink + datalogger
2. AEM EMS
3. HKS VPC

I opted for the #3 for the moment, but am thinking that i'll be saving for the AEM EMS. It seems like the all the bolt on upgrades that i get could still be used with the AEM in the future and i could still see significant gains without too much tuning. I think of it as somewhat of a safeguard for myself, so i don't accidently blow my motor by having too much control.

By the way, the eprom ecus come up on the classifieds here every-so-often if you're heading in that direction. Plus, ebay seems to have them everytime i did the search.

Good luck!
