Hi,

I am planning to replace the engine wiring harness in my 91' TSi AWD due to the fact that the three ecu connector "holding tabs" were broken off by a previous owner, the 4 injector plugs are missing the metal retaining clip, and because of various other smashed plugs. I don't know of an electrical wiring forum, so I figured I would post this in here.

Through some research I have come to the fact that an engine wiring harness for an automatic car will work on a manual car, as long as its the same year and trim (1991 TSi AWD auto is good to use on 1991 TSi AWD manual). No splicing of wires is needed and you will just have some extra plugs laying around if you do it this way.

Can someone please confirm this?

Thanks,
Bill

i have a auto harness in my car i hate it, but you will have to jump 2 wires on the auto trans connector to bypass the neutral safety switch just remember always be in neutral when you start it or clutch, and for some reason my wipers dont work not saying that you will have the same problem but i never drive mine in the winter or rain so i aint trippin.

but im using a n/t harness wired with the turbo stuff.
