Rebuilding my 96 Eclipse GSX AWD Turbo 5 Speed Manual.

Anyways had an engine fire and harnesses were wasted. I found a guy through Craigslist and purchased a Fusebox Harness which was supposedly from a 95 GSX 5 Speed also...

Whats the problem?

Wiring harness does not match up with mine. Did he screw me or where does this plug in? Im clueless and am about to give up on this nightmare car.

Attached are a couple pics of the section in question. Is it truely a 5 Speed harness from the 95-96 GSX/GST/TSI or did he give me one for an automatic?

What is this to? or where does it go? :banghead:

The large connector is for the ABS ECU. The small rectangular black connector is a ground and the other is the ABS power relay. As far as I gather, the existence of the ABS power relay at that location indicates an AWD harness. Nothing from those pictures, however, can be used to differentiate between a 5-speed and an automatic harness. These connectors are '95-'97 specific according to the diagrams.

Honestly, I don't recognize that harness as being part of a 2g turbo dsm. If you want some help, post pics of the harness/wiring you're looking for. Take some pics of what you need in the engine bay or at least the location of what you need in the engine bay if it is no longer there. I have a 2g parts car. If you can provide some details of what you're looking for I might be able to help out.

Haha, I'm glad you recognized the harness in the picture. Maybe I shouldn't be trying to help this late at night. LOL

On the ECU connectors (the 4 major connectors) look for a wire at pin 52. Only 95/96 harnesses have a wire there for the timing adjustment

Also, the gold box in one of the pictures reminded me of the style of MFI relay only found in 95/96 GSX's. Look for a 6 wire connector that's located in the interior car portion of harness, this link shows more detail

I don't know if it's auto or manual trans though
