Wiring Harness Question

I am doing a swap job for somebody and was wondering if I could just take the wires out of the harness from the 2.0 that are missing from the 1.8 harness and add them in, instead of taking out all the bullshit to replace the wiring harness for the one from the 2.0..

I'm not even sure if a 1.8 to 2.0 liter swap is possible, but if it is, then you will need to scrap ALL of the wires. The 4G63 is a totally different engine, and you'll also need a new ECU. There are probably some parts of the harness that I think can be re-used (the injector wires/clips I think are compatible) but it will be easier to just to discard EVERYTHING and start fresh with everything from a 2.0 liter front clip. If you start mis-matching wires and other electrical components, and something doesn't work when you fire the engine up, you won't even know where to begin debugging the problems.

Both engines are naturally aspirated, I am using the computer from the 2.0 that the engine came out of, but since alot of the electrical stuff under the hood looked similar, I was wondering if I could just add and replace some wires and run them to the engine instead of having to rip out the dash and all that good stuff again...because that just sucked

I agree with sonicnofadz, dont half ass it. Pull everything outta the 2.0 car and slap it into the 1.8, everything will boltup.

I think I will just do that then.
I didn't think that I was going to get as far as I did today, and after looking at the two harnesses the 1.8 would have a couple extra clips and shit that were attatched for idle control or something of that nature...and since that is about all I have left to do I should be able to finish her up tomorrow...then enjoy a few brews friday and off to school to start monday :thumbdown
