engine rebuild w/stroker

I blew a rod out the bottom of my engine just after rebuilding it a couple months ago. Now I have the money to rebuild it again... I was thinking about going with a stage 3 6 bolt stroker kit from slowboyracing pictured here http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=2008& with a bore size of .040. Since I also damaged the head I was also considering a stage 6 head from slowboy http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=1039&.
Since I'm basically rebuilding my entire engine was thinking about throwing in a Turbonetics T3/T4 60-1 Turbo with a 62-1 compressor, stage 5 wheel, and .82 housing.

Does anyone see and disadvantages with this set up. Or should I use a diff stroker kit and diff turbo setup.

Please any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated.
 
will be using an AEM EMS. My buddy totaled his 90 Talon so I ripped it out of his car :thumb: $1000 free. and the fuel was thinking about 750cc injectors feed by a cozmo fuel pump and an aem fuel rail and a buschur racing fuel regulator
 
Kudos on the EMS!

How much boost are you going to run with the T3/T4? Sounds like it'll be a good engine. Are you going to do final assembly or pay someone to?
 
The 60-1 and 62-1 are two completely different turbos. Are you going full T4 or are you keeping a mitsu style exhaust manifold? 750 cc injectors will hardly be enough. You should be looking at 880cc minimum. As long as you have the EMS you might as well go big right away because once you get past 550cc injectors the price hardly changes as you go bigger. I am maxing out my 680's on 20psi with my 2.3L and 60-1. On a side note, the 60-1 works amazing with the stroker. Don't forget that you will still need cams and cam gears for that head.
 
I dont trust anyone to touch my engine but me. If I mess it up theres no one to blame but myself. As for cams, I was aiming at hks 264 intake and 272 exhaust w/aem adjustable cam gears. Dont know for sure about the full T4 setup, but as far as exhaust manifolds go, I'm wanting a turbonetics T3/T4 and to keep it cool was thinking about the Buschur Racing Race FMIC kit. Already going to spend a but load of money, why not finish off my income tax check :D
 
Is this going to be a daily driver or a track-only car? Either way go straight 272's or the FP3's for cams. You're going to be running a stroker engine with a race head... you want your cams to allow as much air into the engine as possible. Another thing that I haven't heard too much about because they're brand-new is the HK$ 280 degree cams... I saw that they make them for a 4g63 and the 2jz-gte in one of my newer Turbo magazines.
