Sorry if this is long but last night we ran into a little nightmare and still have yet to find what changed or what happened.

I recently got dsmlink in my car so I took it to my buddies and we were going to install a wideband. I also have a maft setup and from reading around we need to zero it out, so we did. NOTE I drove the car with them not zeroed for a about 2-3 days and had no problems, but we zeroed them out.

We pulled the second O2 sensor out that is in the downpipe, and replaced it with the wideband and ran it up into the engine compartment. We then went to start the car and it was sooooo rich!!! The wideband actually said to rich! The car barely ran and was running terribly. We then went into dsmlink and disabled readings from the O2 sensor.

We then traced our steps back and reconnected the rear O2 sensor, "we did just cut it" and again the car barely would even start. We then thought maybe something got shorted out so we began to check for spark and fuel and all logical fuses and everything came back right.

*Known strange things:
when I turn on my car the maft does not flash the lights like it used to or should do? We plugged in my buddies which we know is good and no lights will come on and car still runs terrible.

*We completely disconnected the maft and just plugged in a stock 2g mas and it ran a little better but still real bad and not nearly right.

I guess I am sort of lost and I plan on trying switch out the gm maf that is in there with a another one.

Also maybe we shorted out the ECU some how?

Any suggestions?

Your rear o2 has no effect on how well the car runs. The o2 sensor in your downpipe is your front o2 sensor and that is what the ECU uses to set fuel trims. I have never messed with widebands but from what I understand, if you actually replace the stock one (narrowband, 0-1V) with a wideband (0-5V) you need to have one that simulates narrowband signals. Or else drill and tap a new hole for your wideband seperate from the stock sensor.

we are using dsmlink to stimulate the the wideband O2 using the stock o2 wires. We even hooked up the the stock O2 back up and like you said had no effect on how the car should run. I just want ot say the back O2 has no effect on his car running like it does. There is some other problem we are over looking.

It has to be something to do with the intake cause it's getting plenty of fuel..LOL So my guess is something to do with the translator. I forgot that I had extra 3 inch gm maf in my room so I can try that. I am also going to try Matt's ECU and see what happens. And then start following wires, I guess???
