Okay so this is my first post an have read a couple others but nothing really stuck out to me as what the problem could be. Anyways I have a 96 2g GSX with the original camshaft sensor behind the cam gear. The car started today an ran great, had my laptop with ECMLink v3 hooked up and it didn't throw any codes or anything.
I shut it down replaced my driver side door handle, (for the 3rd time in 7 years of owning the car) went to start the car again and it would crank but wouldn't start, sputter and pop, checked ECU and got code P0340, cleared the code an the car started and idles but sounded like it was only running 2 cylinders so I shut it down, checked ECMLink again an no codes.
Engine was completely rebuilt 3k miles ago an this is the first problem I've had since. Just wondering if there is a way I can test the cam sensor to see if it is the problem, if so I do have a 1g style sensor with the RRE harness I can swap in without having to take the timing belt off to change to another 96 style sensor.
Thanks in advance for any response
