Engine cut off switch and push to start

Hey i was just curious on some peoples opinions about installing engine cut off switch and push to start. My friend a while back had done this in his car but fabricated the dash board and put sheet metal and installed switches in there i like the idea of doing it because its my own custom way. But i think its kinda lame for engine cut off switch on stock NT car just curious what you guys thought about it. Ill post some pictures up if i decide to do it and maybe a write up if there is none on here?

Yeah, I agree with you about it being lame. I personally wouldn't waste my tima and money on it.

well it wouldnt really cost me anything considering i have everything except piece of sheet metal. But yea i guess it would be lame idk i just want to fabricate something so i migt do something i cant drive car for 9 more days no license. From stupid tickets so im tryin to just do something.

I wish my car was like the new evos, i like the idea of how you sont need to insert the key since its chiped you just turn the little knob and can keep your keys in your pocket i envy the cars that have them

A company called stardrive makes a push button start and yes it eliminates the need of the oem key. I googled it and found it seems pretty good but around 5-600$. It's your call if you wanna spend the cash for push start with security.

I agree with black widow. Very lame. I had it on my car for a while and took it off. its very easy to install

Hell, I don't get to drive mine at all until at least next spring. And you dont see me doing anything silly like pushstarts or killswitches.

yea it sucks i got so many tickets and there still coming in but i only ended up payin for a few so far so i dont know why they took my license . and black widow it was just an idea i had from a friend but yea i dont know i just want to do something i have no job should be soon though. My friend has a brand spakin new evo black ugh .

yea thats what i was doing today did oil cahnge and was going to do tranny fluid turns out the bolt is pretty much rounded to hell. Any ideas to get it off? i have torch but idk if thatll help me any. i tried adjustable wrench sockets nothing

but i still need the keys to start it. and the killswitch is so people can't steal my car (well... makes it harder to steal).

the push button start is where the lighter used to be. i think it looks awesome.

Yeah, try locking pliers. Then grab a new fill plug from your local junk yard so you dont have to worry about it again. (pocket part )

Buy a pair of twist sockets from craftsman, should be 60 bucks and comes with a bunch of sockets. I use this kit all the time at work for bolts that are rounded off. Just hamme the socket on there and then use a ratchet.

I used to have a push button starter on my dc integra. Used to have to jump the starter cause of a wiring issue from the starter to the my key ignition. Quick easy fix. I like the idea of having it where the lighter is necrotopsy, you have any pics of that by chance?

Yep those twist socket work wonders. I picked up my set from home depot. They are Irwin brand. Autozone also has them. But the thing is the set only has has five sizes and you have to get the extension set to get more sizes. Both sets are around 50 dollars and you get a cool little case. You could just pick just the one set that fits your bolt. Good luck.

I had to grind down a 15/16 socket to an ultra shallow well to fit the drain plug properly and allow room between the trans and frame on my 2g. Really tight space, and I didnt have a wrench that fit, had a socket but on way to get torque on it, had a bench grinder and a pairt of vicegrips to hold the socket with.
