i am currently rebuilding my gsx engine and i have a few unanswered questions?i am wondering do i need to get a new OEM oil pump and water pump? also were i live in Colorado i can not find a machine shop that does 4g63 blocks? any body know were i can go? also i do not know if my pistons n crank are good? looks like valves came in contact with the pistons. the crank i think might need turned. any help is great. thanks

i also want to shoot for a 400-500hp goal so any info is great on that.:hellyeah:

Any machine shop that is reputable should be able to build a stock 4g63, which will hold up to your power goals just fine. As for the crank and all the internals, the machine shop will be able to tell you that once they check it out for you.

As for the water and oil pump, I would definitely shoot for OEM on the oil pump, the water pump I wouldn't care so much about. That's just my personal opinion.

You stated your power goal, what is your budget?

What parts do you have?

How much of the work do you want to do?

The block and crank need to be mic'ed to see what you have to work with.
No way of telling if the block will hone and go, or need to be bored.

How much history do you know on the engine?

Some pics can help, but will not tell the whole story.

i will post some pics as soon as possible. but the crank i mic'ed and it was 1 thousandth off. so it will need to be turned right? and the pistons are a thousandth off too. as for micing the bore of the block i dont have the tool. the block needs th be resurfaced too.

i have been working on 4g63 cars scene 2008 it has not been that long but i know some things. i have enough knowledge to rebuild the block i just want to do it right.

as for parts i just have parts from the block but if i need new parts i will buy them.

Also i have two gasket sets and i have put the tougher and have a complete set

Hey whats up man i see you are from CO, i live in Rifle. If you are looking for a good machine shop that does 4g63's there is one in GJ called ASF Machine, the owner's name is Joe hes an ex dsm guy he went subbie now but he's definitely the guy to go to. There is a bunch in Denver but thats a ways away. Anyways if you need help with your dsm let me know ive been working on them a while and im also rebuilding an engine for my blown up dsm right now.
