Ok been reading but want to make sure I know what im talking about before I put the plastic to work.

Im building a 2.3 stroker for my 6 bolt.

from the looks of it I will need to buy the following parts

eagle 100mm forged crank
manley 2.3L stroker pistons
eagle rods

I have acl tri-metal berrings new in box
I have arp head studs new in box

The block will be decked, ground for the crank clearance, hot tanked/baked, and bored over if needed.

I know there are other rod/piston combos but I can put this together for about 1360 for parts vs spending like 1500-2300 at a vendor for the same parts.

A lot of it depends on what your hp goals are. I believe a stock 2.4 crank will hold around 500-600hp. As far as the stroker goes, thats all you need

You COULD save alot of money and go with a 4g64 crank, I know it can hold way more than 600.
But it looks like eveything else is right.
Not sure what exactly your question is though? LOL

A new crank for a 4g64 is about the same price as the eagle crank from what ive seen.

I wouldnt want to do a build and beat on a 100k mile used crank even if it is in spec.

My question was did i miss anything that I needed to run a stroker set up. I thought I had it all but I wanted to double check.

Although I thought eagle cranks were around $500? A lot of people are running mitsu cranks with no problems. Other than that, looks good

they are around 580ish. the cheapest ive seen on a new 4g64 crank is around 600ish from jnz

I know you can get a perfect mitsu crank for 200 generally

im guessing that they are remaned and not new. Im not looking to take a chance on a crank that might be ok.

and I could go to a junk yard and get a crank for 200 that might be good also.

Theres nothing wrong with remand cranks, just a personal preference. If you want the extra security go for it. I was on more of a budget, and the extra 300 bought me dsmlink :)

had a bad experience with a remaned crank once before so i am kinda wary about them.

Grab the eagle then. Your build looks solid up to 700whp (depending on what eagle rods). Have fun with all the low end trq, its a blast!

You just need to find a 4G64, from a car that you know wasn't beaten up, like a seventh gen Galant, they are almost always in good shape. I don't know if you'll be able to find one that is 6 bolt, but maybe this photo could be some motivation to look for a used crank, could save you a lot of money. I picked up the complete motor that this 4G64 crank came out of for $150. This was just an initial polish on that one journal.

that look good. but even ebay only turned up a bc stroker for a 4g64 6 bolt

Yeah what you would want to look for is a 89-91 Hyundai Sonata motor. They came with a 6 bolt 4G64. I bet you could pick it up for cheap if you managed to find one.

Looks good.

I would try and find a used crank though, because I'm just like that. I will look for the best bang for my buck. But you will need the crank out of a g4cs, not a 4g64.

It's called a G4CS, not a "6 bolt 4G64".

I would think a 6 bolt 4G64 crank would work for him if he found one. A 4G63 block with an 85.5 mm bore, 100 mm stroke, and 150 mm rod would make a 2.3.

I see, thank you for the correction.

Ill take a look at the local pick and pull for a g4cs motor and pul the crank and see how it looks. Otherwise I will just go eagle crank and save time

That's the route I would take. I would first try the G4CS, but they're a little difficult to find. Just look for a 89-91 Sonata.

If that doesn't work then go with the Eagle Crank.

I know our pic and pulls sell the cranks for like 30 bucks, and the entire engine for 125.

my pick and pull has a crap ton of cars but they are kinda pricey. ahhh the joys of living in new york.

thanks for the tip but useless for me. went to the pick and pull today and every car that had a g4cs in it is missing the crank for some reason. i wonder who needed that many cranks

I got my crank for $80 haha
But if youve had problems with reman cranks before, then i see your concern.
But as long as its magnafluxed you should be good to go. I know rock auto sells them for about $200 as well. I just picked mine up from someone on tuners in the classifieds.

Not in a 100mm stroke. They only have it in 88 mm which I don't need.
