Electric gauges: PLEASE HELP

Ok, I bought two Faze gauges recently, and I want to hook them up tommorow. They are electric, so they have a back light that needs to be hooked up. My question is, what should I hook up the "+" wire to? I don't want to hook it up directly to my battery because I think that'll be too much power flowing into my gauge. Somone suggested that I hook it up to the headlight control, I did that and when I turned on the headlights, the gauge light turns off. Should I hook it up to the dimmer switch? Or is there a better place. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks very much.

you can tap into any source that turns on with the headlights. I would assume the dimmer would work

That's weird that your guage's lights go off when you turn the lights on That's where I hook up all my guages. But the dimmer should work or if you want to drill a little hole somewhere in the dash and install a switch. Run a power line right from the battery to the swtich and another power from the switch to the guage. This should work and will give you one separate switch from which you could operate all you guages

Where did you tap into for the air pressure line? I want it reversable so if i take it out i dont have fill cuts in line and does not look like was moded.
