you can power any of them..i would get a test light from like autozone for like 4 buks or so..and then pull out a accesory like you cruise control button or something and then touch the test light to any power and turn the lights on and off to see if the indiglos turn on and off and if they do then go ahead and tap into that wire and grond it anywhere

if you want them to come on with the lights.. ya tap the green w/white wire. location is (+) FUSE/JUNCTION BLOCK OR DIMMER or any dash light/tail light/cig light < easy one.

if you do tap the proper wire that is connected to the illumination it will dim when you use your dimmer switch so if you do want to do that then get the test light (good to have) and find the right one

First off, I installed these this weekend and had a couple problems along the way, I guess I am warning others....

The 2 little screws closest to the oil pressure gauge are a pain in the ass. There is a little metal plate they screw into deep at the back of the cluster. If you move the cluster, the plate will slide out of place!! Luckily, my boy had some dentist tools that would reach that far. It took about 45 minutes to get these screws in place.

I burned holes out of the side of the cluster away from any electrical connection for the Indiglo hookups to flow out of...

We couldnt find a wire to tap into that connected to the headlight switch so we wired it to the factory dimmer switch for the gauge background lights.

Everything is together and looks great, but the oil pressure gauge does not work, it shows 0 pressure all the time, never moves.....

Anyone have a fix for this? other than take it back apart and install it again?

That is the guide I used during installation. I have no idea what went different....but no, we moved the needles as little as possible...
maybe we popped it out of the gears when we were moving around it...of course, im going to take everything back apart and retrace my steps...

The oil pressure gauge,at least in my 98, has no gears and works off the bimetallic heat principal(kinda like a thermostat). They are fragile and have 2 tiny wires that are easily disconnected.

i have a set of reverse indiglo gauges for my 95 eclipse gs and i dont have any instructions and the place i bought them doesnt offer any. I bought them off ebay. does anyone know where i can find the instructions to install them without messing up my car. thanks. :dsm:

im not an expert at all, but you could probably just take the dashboard off and the gauges out. Then you could look at the way the wires were configured on stock and match them up to your gauges. I know that sounds oversimplified, so dont flame me please.

Also, what kind of gauges are they? Maybe check their website or call the company?

i bought them off ebay from autobacs1, im not sure the brand name, but i think that i have to place these over the stock gauges?? is that correct.....someone help me out please. thanks guys :dsm:

um, you would proly need to take out the stock, or are they just little indiglo flaps? Do you have some pictures?

i dont have pics but they are gauge faces that are white during the day and glow blue at night.......... i cant figure out how to wire them up!!

the indiglo gauges should lay over top of the stock gauges, you will have to remove the guages to install them (but make sure you put em back in LOL) I think you will have to remove the needle in order to lay the new indiglo guages then put the needle back on then you can run the wires, they should run right into your dimmer switch (note-you may have to drill tiny holes for the wires so that they are not visable)

yea, go with what he said. ;) maybe there are some pictures on this site of installation instructions

where can i find pictures of this installation?? i have to remove the stock gauges and then put them back in??? :dsm:

im still not sure on the wiring?? i really need to find out how to wire these things correctly!! :dsm:

red goes to a power source... i ran a wire from my tail light... this way it will light up when i turn the light switch to the first click... black goes to ground... any good metal source will do... it's easy

I've done two indiglo gauge installs. And both times a pretty pain in the butt because you could seriosly mess up your fuel and oil pressure gauges. Do NOT remove any needles! you have to just lide the indiglo gauges over. This is really difficult for the oil pressure, stock boost, temp, and fuel gauge. I had to use an exact-o knife to cut away extraneous plstic on the gauge. Make sure your cut is flat and clean. Non clean cuts will cuz the needle to "catch" and thus not move.

As for wiring, take off the center console (6 screws total). Solder the indiglo power to the green and white stripped wire going to the cigerette lighter. Ground the black wire to the bolt found underneath the steering wheel.

Although I was successful both times, this is a pretty difficult install. You have to have tiny tiny fingers and be very patient getting the gauges to fit.

Just did my install, fallowed all the steps, and was carfull. Hooked it all up, now the speedomiter needle doesn't move.... Everything else seems to be working fine, and it looks good. But the needle wont budge, any suggestions?

possibly the needle is cought up on some plastic.

i also trimmed alot of excess plastic off my oil pressure/boost and temp gauges on the sides to get them to slide right in. my guel gauge doesnt go under 1/4 of a tank cause of the overlays getting in the wya, but i usually fill up at 1/4 so no biggie.
