I'm having a serious problem and I hope you can help me out. I'm
running a dsm link with a vpc and I have the dsmlink chip for 660. My
problem is that my tune settings are getting erased. symptoms: after
driving a little or after idling for a little the rps jumps up (go's
back down) throws a quick check engine light (stays for about 10sec)
that goes away that's when the setting go to default (car is till
running but like ass) that happens a couples of times some times than
all the sudden the setting lean (-40 all the way across the fuel trim)
out and the car dies. After that happens I have to reload the tune and
the car runs fine again for a little bit. Could the problem be a bad ecu
or a short some were?battery not being tied down?

It would seem that you loosing power. Does this happen when the car is sitting still or only when your driving. The ECU has two power sources that are independant until you get back to the battery so that would be where I'd start. If the battery isn't tied down that can cause problems like this.

Mine would do that too, mine turned out to be a bolt in the fuse box vibrated out and caused a no connection condition. You have two fusible links in there and the bolt on the backside, the one that connects to the battery fuse came out. This caused my intermitten cabin power outage...not to mention my alternator was bad (that's besides the point). Check your fusible links for power and the obvious broken link. Make sure that both the alternator fuse and battery fuse get the same amount of power when the car is shut off (both are hot at all times). If your ecu resets at idle, I would idle your car and meter the two links again until it does it again, just to see if those are the culprits.
I didn't see that any mention of your battery being in the rear and if it is still up front, then yes, I would definitely tie it down, since the battey could be hitting the hood and grounding out.
Also check all your battery connections and the connections from and to the fusible links.
