Ok I found a new ECU because my old one took a crap and all the numbers match mine except for the 4 small numbers on the front cover.

My ECU: MD335287
E2T61687
6709 T

New ECU: MD335287
E2T61687
6206 T

So what do these smaller numbers refer to? Is it important? Will it work with my car?

Also i already bought this one and I plugged it into my car and it will not run.

Extra ECU:MD321912
E2T61677
5Y29 T
Is it because the numbers don't match? Its from a 2g turbo. Someone told me they were interchangeable.

The ECU that didn't work was from a '95-'96. The reason it didn't work is you need to swap spark plug wires, as the CAS is different between the two cars ('95-'96 and '97-'99).

As for the two ECU's with matching part numbers, I am unsure what the little numbers mean, but it is unimportant to it working or not.

Ok so right now my coil wires go 4123. With cylinder 1 at the cam gears and 4 at the CAS. What do they need to be in order to work?

With your plug wires swapped you may still have issues.
(The injectors will fire when the intake valve is closed and the CAS signal can cause problems)

95-96 ecus with a 97-99 CAS seem to have better luck then the opposite.

If you have Low RPM Engine Vibrations and Knock, Frequent Misses, or Bad Idle, you should get the correct ecu.

Options are:

97 ecu, can be gotten for cheap.

98-99 ecu, more expensive, but can be Flashed.

95 eprom ecu, most expensive, will also need a Chip with Inverted CAS option or DSMLink.

The last line on the label is either an encoded date or some other check digits not a part number.

Those extra numbers are just a date code, and don't matter. Any 1997-99 turbo ECU will work fine.

The car seems to idle fine now, i will take it for a run to see how it is. Does anyone know the order that the injectors need to be flipped?

The 97-99 CAS is basically the same as the 1G CAS, signal wise.

RRE Instructions

Ok so i have a 96 ECU running a 97 CAS. Is this what i need to do?

Due to the inverted Cam signal, injector trigger wires will need to be switch on 95-96 year ECU cars with this
wiring diagram in order to bring the signals back into phase. The difference is subtle, but the motor will start
easier, provide smoother idle, and have less hesitations during mild acceleration.
Use the following diagram:
When removing the pins on your ECU wiring harness be patient and delicate. It requires no force to remove
the pins. Consult the diagram in the front of your electrical service manual regarding the proper way to
inspect and remove pins. You will need a tiny jewelers screwdriver, (1/16 in) to release a plastic catch holding
the pin's in. Use a flashlight and take a good look at the harness before beginning.
Green: Pin 1 is now 14
Green w/ yellow stripe: Pin 2, is now Pin 1
Green w/ red stripe: Pin 15, is now Pin 2
Yellow w/ black stripe: Pin 14 is now Pin 15
Refer to the final page of this document for all ECU pin allocations

OK i switched all the injector wires around like the instructions said and the car runs great!! Thanks again!
