hi guys got a DSM about a month ago.....did some maintenance on it now upgrading it....i am looking at getting a 14b from my salvage yard i want to add a 190 fuel pump with rewire and push like 15lbs of boost on the 14b...i have no way to tune i took a pic of my ecu cover and inside....can you tell me if this is an EPROM...can i with this ECU take to a dyno and have them tune the car. ty for all your help.

also how do i make a post i went to new posts and could not find out how....am i only able to post in the newbie forum plz help with this.... mods are full 3 inch turboback boost gauge supposedly motor is built but i can definitely tell there are some cams in it from the lopey idle....car holds its own against si hondas and v6 chargers...boost gauge reads 12lbs please help me. actually i cant upload pics for some dumb reason plz text me and i can send a pic of my ECU name is josh

If you have one, you will need to have it "socketed" so the flash module can be changed. You may want to check out the rest of the ECMTuning site to get an understanding of how an eprom ecu is used.

ok now my next question is if i do not have an eprom ecu...can i take my car to a dyno ans habe it tuned with the srock 97 gst ecu?

In stock form, the non-eprom ecu's programming cannot be changed/modified. If you are wanting to use the stock ecu for tuning purposes, you will be after an eprom ecu. The eprom ecu itself is not "tunable" without modification (socketing).

Another option is the black box ecu found in 98-99 GS-T/GSX models. Unlike the 95-97 ecu's, this one can be reflashed using ECUFlash (and correct cables). Information about this ecu can be found here:

If you are looking to get a tune, you may want to check out local tuners to you and check to see what they can/prefer to tune with. ECMLink is considered the most user-friendly option.
