Ebay question??

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Manifolds are iffy. Most of the welds suck, and will crack. Why not port the hell out of your 2g manifold and call it a day, with some extra cash in your wallet.

But there have been sucess stories people using them for years with no problems.

The ebay IC kits will most likely have horrible fitment. But can be made to work very well.

Fair enough ROFL. Can i take that rib out the center of my stock mani? Where it connects to the turbo. Also would i be able to move my manual boost controller into my center console without having problems?

Vacuum problems and having enough psi to open the internal Wastegate that sort of problems.

I'd say I heard that the Punishment Racing FMIC is a pretty decent piece, but then I'd be breaking Rule #3.

Anyways, typically most of the eBay parts have some kind of corresponding thread on tuners so if you find something on eBay I'd search up the part on here. I've had good results with ChromeIntakes, Punishment Racing, and CX Racing on eBay.

If you don't have a budget then buy all means support the vendors on here, buy solid/trusted piece, and call it a day.

Alright thank you. I plan on buying from the vendors on here i was just looking into some stuff for short term use that way if anything breaks i will knownot to use such and such part from Ebay and also have an excuse to go with better made stuff. If that made any sense at all. Lol. But does anyone have the answer to my boost controller question?

If you want to move it ive seen kits on our vendors for in car installation, i never saw one in a car before easier to get to and work with in the bay, but thats just me.

There is a vendor that makes a valve that is cable controled manually,do not run air lines that far....you will have issues. I try to keep my lines no longer than 2 feet. Also adjusting boost on the fly is going to mean you have to also tune on the fly, part of a good running dsm is the tune met with the boost. If you get the car tuned to 20psi and than just rip 28psi you WILL have issues. Best possible advice......DON"T DO IT, there is a reason everyone keeps them under the hood.

I would suggest the forced performance exhaust manifold, i picked one up for 175 last week. its still on sale right now.Its a pretty quality piece. Comes with both gaskets too. just dont forget the bolts, etc. if you need them.though i would suggest grabing some new ones anyway while your putting the new one on may as well to be sure.

My cousin got an ebay manifold, one of the 'better looking' ones. Almost every time he drove the car he had to weld cracks in the manifold first. The wastegate flange broke off causing the car to catch on fire. He welded that back on just to be able to move it around the shop before getting a new one, and when he took it off to throw it away the whole T3 flange was almost totally falling off (for like the third or fourth time).

You want the boost controller hoses as short as you can to prevent/minimize boost spike.

Well thank you guys for the advice. I will not move the boost controller. I just figured it would be easier to get my car up to 14 psi with less stopping and adjusting then driving some more get out and adjust again. But i will leave it under the hood.

By the time you get the lines routed in, you would've easily had the boost set where you wanted it.

Lol well nice looking Ebay manifold is out of the question. Thank you!

They don't look nice for long, they turn a nasty brown pretty much right away.

So that it has a more straight through flow. I will take a picture when i get home so you guys know what I'm talking about ### i really don't know how to explain it. Is there a forum on how to port a exhaust manifold?

That's like routing all four pipes toward each other then.

If you have a turbo with a larger turbine housing such as the 7cm housing on the Evo 3 16G, you just need to port match it to the housing. You will also want to make sure things are radiused decent for smooth flow.
