i looked on the product reviews and didnt find anything on ebay 16g turbos, im on a small budget of about 1200$ bought a car that threw a rod through the side of the block, i have another block but im going to get stronger rods and higher compression ratio pistons so not alot of money to play with left any one have advice or experiance with ebay turbos i only want to put around 3-400 hp to the ground. thanks

ebay turbos are terrible good for back-up turbos only really some people do have random luck with them myself did not, i bought a t-25 off ebay for a replacement and it only lasted me 2 weeks after that dealt with huge hastles with them replacing it and fixing it and i had a 1 year warrenty on it. after all this i got my money back and bought a real 16g and made all the required changes for the swap and i havent had any problems with it try contacting jusmx141 on here and see what he has avalible hes good with rices and does amazing jobs on rebuilding turbos.

A stock bottom end will be perfectly fine with 300-400 horsepower. Your engine didn't break from making too much power, it broke from a damaged bearing. Build the engine with stock internals and spend the money on a good used evoIII turbo. Also you will need other supporting mods. 1200 will not get you anywhere close to 400 horsepower if you are building the engine, buying a turbo, injectors, exhaust, fuel pump, intercooler, tuning software and everything else needed.

I learned that turbos on ebay are relatively the same price as the ones from a reputable website. Though I have never bought an eBay turbo, I would still try to save money to buy a quality turbo. I'd sure be mad if I spend money on a turbo just to find out it'll breakdown in two weeks. However, I'd also be one happy camper if I had a turbo that lasts a lot longer just because I saved up a little more for a quality turbo.

My two cents.

Good luck on your endeavors.

well i already have to bore my engine 20 over do to the block have 170,000 miles so i dont see why spending 300 on a rod/piston set from thedsmgraveyard.com would be a bad idea

if you have to bore it out then yes i would do it but with the power your looking for you dont need to and a good reliable turbo will be better setup for you only so you dont always have that fear of the ebay knockoff blowing on you

are the cylinder walls scared or anything you may not have to bore it out

ok so go the route your going then with the bore 1200 is cutting it close for what your going to be doing hoping that you wont run into any problems, try talking to jusmx141 and see what he has avalible for turbos. i would go exact fitment in your case until you have the extra money to do the upgrades your looking for to make 400 whp.

What you are getting is a set of rebuilt oem rods with itm oem replacement pistons for that price. IF you already have a set of rods than you can just buy a set of pistons with the rings and bearings for 140 bucks and have the same thing for half the price.

Good luck on your endeavors.

I was a lucky one who found a used evo2 16g for 300 with no issues. This came with weeks of searching
