Ebay evo 16g

I'd stay far away from GT Evo3's as possible. There's a good article on Slowboyracing.com where they compare an Evo3 GT to a true Mitsu Evo3 and you'd be surprised of the differences. Basically, they go on to say the GT turbos' lifespan might only be as few as 10k miles. You'd be better off finding a used true Mitsu unit, you'd get better use of it. I recently saw a nice, low-mile Evo3 turbo end on eBay right around $400, and it came with an Evo3 o2 housing also. That was one of the best eBay deals I've seen for a while.

First off lets address the SBR's article. They have their opinion but if you search around the internet you'll find very little documented proof that the GT is actually of lesser quality. Here is a link for some more info on that.
http://turbochargers.com/Evo3GT.htm

As for the original poster Evo III's are going for extremely cheap so don't waste your time with Ebay's knockoffs. Here is just a short list of different vendors and prices
SBR: 568.97
Forced Performance: 539.00
DSMparts.com: 529.00
Turbochargers.com: 459-499 (depending on GT or normal model)
Buschurracing.com: 499-550 (depending on GT or normal model)
Diamondstarmotorsport.com: 599

If you can't afford those prices just take a little more time and save up for it. You get what you pay for and these turbo's are at an extremely low price, why buy a cheap model when you could've spent a little extra for quality.

Did you not see the 20 threads on this???????

Just from my own experience, I bought a car that had one, From my buddy. He bought one and it lasted around the block. Yes, 1 ride around the block, And it blew. They gave him another one brand new for free.. He put it on the car and I bought the car, I checked the turbo a week later and it was totally blown.. I mean, You can take the compressor wheel and move it like a ball in a pinball machine, That's how bad it was. They're junk, Buy one and check it out for yourself.

LOL ^^

I was wondering how those GT's were holding up. Not many folks that bought them are saying much.
I say talk to Buschur about it, the GT's they are selling are built in Taiwan and they haven't had a single problem with them. As for the ebay turbo's (which I believe 1993eclipsegs was talking about) I could believe they just fall apart.

thanks

Don't buy this turbo! This turbo is by SSAutochrome.

If you wish to save money on a real MHI Turbo, check out www.tubochargers.com.

Small 16G, Big 16G, and MHI Evo III = $459

Oh, so there are two knock offs of the MHI EvoIII big 16g?
I thought the ones that ss autochrome were selling were the GT's.

it depends on who you trust more...sbr or turbochargers.com.
personally, I think (or know) that the engineers at Mitsubishi, are real engineers that have made, and tested everything on their cars. They have more R&D than any aftermarket company, because their products are sold to millions of people across the world.
Personally I don't think anyone can make anything better than the factory. Thats why it is important to use factory replacements on a lot of things.

This is just IMHO.... I can not say that this is 100% true, but just what I think.

Its more then jus that Buschur also sells the GT and claims no problems with it, and I trust Buschur way more then SBR. But either way stay away from the ebay turbo's and buy from a trusted vendor (what we've all been saying) if you don't feel comfortable with the GT version just get the MHI no one has problems with that one and its cheaper from most places anyways and makes great power.

That turbo that ssautocrome turbo is not a actual evo316GT.It is cheap knock off to even that.I think the t.comGT turbo is getting a bad name from these ebay #### turbos.:notgood:

Don't make it a GT vs. MHI discussion. He asked if the eBay turbo is good or not, stick to that. Personally, I have never ordered anything I really depend on from an eBay vendor, especially ssautochrome, who is the same as xspower. From what I hear about this same guy from the members across these boards, the stuff he sells is just plain shit. Some eBay stuff is great and cheap, don't get me wrong, but personally, I would not buy anything really expensive or that I depend on (i.e. turbos, engine internals, etc.). But that is just my opinion, and that is all you'll get on this post... research yourself and it's ultimately up to you.
