First off I would like to say I am in no way affiliated with mufflertech.com. I would like to share my opinion of the product and the service I received through them. The product in question can be found on eBay at any given time. It is an axle back exhaust for the Eclipse GSX and Talon Tsi AWD. Here is a link to one of their Auctions... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...&category=34203&sspagename=STRK:MEBWA:IT&rd=1 . I decided to just order from them outside of ebay from the website and through emails with them. I paid 189.99 for the axle back exhaust and a Car Sound High Flow Cat. The muffler is an OBX with the 10 or so inches of pipe welded on to it to match up to the stock exhaust.

What I ordered was the muffler with 2.5” piping and the cat with 2.5” inlet and outlet. What I got was a dented muffler but the quality of welding looked good. The cat was actually really nice. I did have to file down some burs on the muffler and cat but that took all of 5 minutes. The muffler actually was only 2.25” piping. Why anyone would want a 2.5” cat and 2.25” piping is beyond me. Personally I would have thought it was a little weird and confirmed before shipping. I was also missing gaskets and bolts which were promised.

I emailed mufflertech as soon as I saw the dent and piping mistake and asked what can be done about this. I received no response. I waited a day and called them directly. I talked to a man this time instead of a woman who barely spoke English. He send oh sorry just send it back. Well it costs $35.00 to ship this package to me and I was not going to pay $35 to ship a $100 muffler. This is all that could be done according to the shop. They stated I would see more hp with 2.25” piping. Obviously these guys don’t know DSM’s.

I then sent the following email:

After receiving your product with a dent and missing parts I have decided to write up a review of our transaction for the DSM Forums online. I would have been happy but I would have to pay to ship it back...2 weeks later maybe I would get a perfect exhaust with all the parts. I will be sure to let them know how much I do not recommend buying an exhaust or high flow cat through you. Thank you for your business and lack of support.

The response I received…. “just send it back we will fix it you fa**ot”

I could not believe my eyes!

I will say that the sound of the exhaust is really nice even with an OBX muffler. I was reluctant at first but thought I would give it a shot. The cat is a good product and bolted up semi easy. Next is the pipe from the cat to the muffler and then the down pipe.

I will not order from this company ever again and would urge everyone to use caution if thinking about buying this exhaust from these guys. Thank You

Here is a pic of what it looks like... I will be getting audio/video soon...

What sucks...my exhaust or the service I received? :)

Report their WEB BASED COMPANY to the Better Bussiness Breau concerning the emails they sent you. Please don't let this turn into a vendor bashing thread.

Please...

Yah...No way this could be a vendor bashing thread....If anything it shows me how I should have bought from a DSMTuners supporting vendor with a good reputation. Well you live and you learn... :(

The item you purchased dosen't look bad at all actually. Plus since you got that if you want you could always get just a midpipe and downpipe now since you got the axleback.

But personally I would just offer to turn around and send it back for my money back and save to get a catback or turboback.

Goodluck with whatever you choose tho.

Something about the stock 2.25 inch piping doesnt sound good :)

I just built me a very nice 3inch stainless mandral bent turboback for $200.

I have a total of 3 bends, a 70 for the downpipe, and two 40 degree bends at the back. I'll post some pics today.
BTW I purchased one of those Apexi N1 look alikes for $50 which was part of the $200. And despite being $50 it is a very high quality peice 3inch inlet to boot.

If you can find a local scrap yard, I would highly recommend taking a look around. You would be very surprised by how much useful stuff is there.

Not sure why this is still open...well, WAS still open.

No customer service issues of any nature on the board. Thanks.
