I just got my newly purchase DP in from BMW325racing. It was for sale on Ebay at a very good price. The DP is made by ERZ whoever they are. But its a 3" mandrell bent s/s polished cat elimenator DP with flex section, flanges at both ends, and comes with gaskets and bolts to mount it. And it was only $110 + 30 shipping. I havent installed it yet but from first look it looks like a quality piece.

I, like I am sure most of you are lerry about buying something off Ebay like this. Seems to good to be true and thats why i am posting on here. It saved me a lot of cash and could save you some too.

I will post later tonight after it is installed to let everyone know how it fits, and i will also try and get some pics up.

Here is a link to one on Ebay right now

UPDATE:

I am not going to be able to actually bolt it on tonight, but i did set it in place to make sure that it fit well and it fits great.

So I would definately recommend this product.:thumb:

My friend gave me a downpipe, cause he accidentally ordered one for an awd, but hes fwd...so he just gave it to me, and from the looks of it, its the exact same on on the link, and it sucks! its looks nice as hell, but the flange where it bolts to the 02 housing was off by a few millimeters, so it would not bolt up at all...i think we are going to try porting the holes on the flange, but i donno...id be pissed off had i payed for it, but since it was free i cant really complain..but just a heads up...donno if mines just a fluke, or if they #### them all up

that can be fixed easy enough though cant it? for $110 3" DP i wouldnt mind having to working with it alittle, but i would if it was a lot of work.

UPDATE:

Installed the dp today and first impressions are a bi*** eh!! The dp doesnot fit the O2 housing and i had to ream it out quite a bit. Also the front hanger is off far enough that i am not even going to use it. And on top of that once i got the holes lined up the nut to the o2 housing studs are a bastard as they barely fit. As of right now i can only tighten the dp most of the way. There is a little gap between it and the o2, but i think i can fix it with some time and bloody nuckles. And yes unfortunately it does neck down to 2.5 at both ends.

Sure looked nice when i opened the box, and when i set it up in the car it looked like it lined up great, must have been the shinnyness that threw me off.

I am now undecided on the quality of this peice but it sure was cheap. I guess you get what you pay for. And i am sorry if i misled anyone.

I didnt leave them neg. feedback just for that reason. But i did send them an e-mail asking what the deal was. Also after some modification and sweat, blood, and tears i think its going to work out fine.

dude that sucks but you just saved me a world of hell. I was going to buy a 3" from them but with all the problems your having F that . i guess ill wait.

I think you should post neg feedback, looking at their Feedback most of its all GREAT PRODUCT and what not, I think it would be fair if a potential buyer got to read something negative so he can be a better judge before they buy something from them that doesnt fit aswell.

What if someone like me bought something like that but I dont have the skills to mess around with it to make it fit, Iw ould be screwed and I would have really wished that someone left some feedback saying it didnt fit and see how the people resolved the problem.

agree

I was also replacing the driver side half shaft at the same time and I was having a lot of trouble with it too. Now that i am done I am still glad that I bought the DP.

Basically all I had to do was reem out the holes in the flange that goes to the o2 housing and cut off one of the hanger brackets and now it fits pretty good. It is bent correctly just a few things were off. I think that compare to over $250 for the same type pipe this was still a great deal.

I already left them feedback so i cant go back and change it now.

I just put my 3" downpipe on recently. Got it from ExtremePSI, they have a new site so I don't know where they put all the exhaust parts that they make but everything fit fine, only problem was the bolts + nuts, gaskets were all back-ordered so all I got in the box was the downpipe. I was surprised to see no packaging or something to support the downpipe from moving around but I noticed no dents.

Result was a little louder, throatier idle, low rpms provide a little gurgle kind of noise. My catback has two resonators that are larger then stock so it deadens the exhaust note quite a bit. In the future I might just go ahead and buy the Evo or Dragger Catback. The N1 looks nice of course but too many people have them.

UPDATE:

I e-mailed the vendor and asked them what was up with the dp not fitting right. They said that it should have fit, but since i hacked it already he couldnt offer me a replacement. But what he did do is credit my paypal account an extra $20.00. (sweet) So maybe it was a fluke, but anyway I definately think it was worth the 125 bucks I now have in it.

Good luck if anyone else decides to try it out and let us know your thoughts on the quality of the DP.

MAN I wish I had read this thread before I bought mine, My ERZ DP just arrived and it looks so awsome, but does not fit, will not bolt up to my HKS hiper exhaust.... Who did you complain to? I bought mine from the bmw????? seller on ebay but the box in came in says eracingzone.. I also did the same thing you did, I left positive feedback after it arrived, it looked so good I guess I lost my mind. :thumbdown :barf:  :(

thats pretty cool of them..they could have easily just said sorry cant do anything, but the fact they credited your account for $20 shows some promise....my bet is they designed it off of a premade downpipe from a diff. company and the jig they use isnt good, or the quality control isnt good...but like everyones already said for 110 most people that are mechanically inclined dont mind messing with it to make it work.

A couple weeks ago I asked these guys (ERZ DP) when they would have a downpipe for 1G - GST at this low price. He told me they would be in, in about a month. May not wanta go that rout now. Let's here more about them.

Thanx for the space
