to add to the review...i email rnr yesterday and asked for an update. it was SUPPOSED to ship on monday...the 23rd of june...this in itself was ridiculous as i ordered the downpipe on the 24th of may...money taken out the 26th of may. email i received today..."due to supply problems we have not been able to ship your downpipe"...today is july 2nd. 1 month + 1 week and it still isnt shipped yet. this is ridiculous.

The tip i dont like on a pretty polished muffler, then just a piece of pipe coming out. (doesnt make sense but maybe i didnt understand what was going to be put on). The welds are beautiful and the bends are nice. Here is the O2 eliminator, has nice welds, not much flash for me to deal with. Looks nice.

Those are nice welds?? Dude, those are sh*t, look at the pinholes in your pics, not to mention the doubled slop welds.
They need to clean the pipe, then weld.

I've been cruising this site for awhile now, and I've noticed that a lot of people recommend this exhaust. But with the wait times and the final cost being no less than a Thermal or Apexi it's now a real toss up on what system to buy. I was going to go with the RnR system, but now I think I'll have to take my money else where, I'm not the type of person who likes to wait for things (I love next day air :thumb: )

yes personally i dont like waiting either, 1-2 weeks for shipping is reasonable, but close to 6 weeks after i ordered and its still not here? thats just not my thing. i am definitely not choosing rnr for my catback. i will post on the condition of the pipe when i get it...WHEN i get it

Well guys i went through the same thing with them. At least now they are getting it pre-made instead of making per order. Ryan is a nice guy and goes out of the way to make a good product. He has the best intentions and had good response time with you. I really think he is just trying so hard to make everyone happy. If you wait for his product i can assure you it is quality. As for the pin holes in the welds and the other things. The welds look very nice to me, they dont leak and the exhaust has not fallen apart. So i guess if he was doing body repair type work it might not be that high of quality, but for exhaust work it is excellent. I dont think we need to knock his quality for that. I agree the wait time sucks, but he will get it out to you. I was very upset to with my wait. But once you get it and it goes on in like 15 minutes, you will be happy. It fit perfect. The exhaust sounds nice and has a good rumble to it.

Well i guess I am part of the club now, i ordered my downpipe and what not, and i do enjoy the responsive emails, so i cant wait till mine comes, but i hope it dosnt take months, but i supose ill be updated here meaby. anyway the name is Jason.

lxlaw, Those nice welds you speak of are not nice at all. You have to look at other products on the market before you go praising a piece that was done by someone still learning on the job. Go to ATR's site and look at those welds on thier downpipes and exhaust systems. I have seen this pipe in person and was impressed at how it hammered the RNR pipe I saw from photos and one locals in person.

Those are beautiful welds and there are not tons of tiny holes in them. Then add to this the ATR pipe is not a bunch of pieces welded together to form one pipe and that the ATR piece is cheaper than RNR's 3" stainless.

So what the hell are you all still doing getting this crap??

lxlaw, your pipe is only half as bad as the locals pipe, his was way worse.

Its obvious most RNR customers are just happy to see the product and will say whatever to make themselves feel better about the situation.

By the way, RNR finally paid this local back. Not bad RNR, only 7 weeks after the initial email request for a refund. :thumb:

I guess I ordered before RNR became popular and swamped with orders. When I ordered my 3" turbo-back about 4 months ago, Ryan was very prompt in returning my e-mails. I wanted a 3" with a custom oval muffler to keep a stock look. He made it and shipped it out to me in less than a week! Even after I received it, he was happy to help me with some questions I had.

Car canibal, I dont know what your deal is or who you are talking about, but you are always trying to bash us. I think you need to just let it go. You must have seen something you didn't with our pipe, but it was probably just a fluke thing as we are very good welders and make sure everything is of the highest quality and that is why we have some many happpy customers.

Focus Drage, I will email you personally.

Thank you,

I don't see what the big deal is, I'm a big fan of the classic way of doign buisness and to me its almost more important to have a good rapore with a company. The fact that there can be a dialoge and custom orders, with such quick email responses, is almost more important then a slapdash job, that i don't have to wait for.

Like i told you in the previous post, the welds are nice and for exhaust work they are very nice. It is not body work, they dont leak, i have no black spots showing leaks. I really think you are nit-picking them for ??? Anyway I am not going to bash them on such trivial things. It is still on my car, sounds nice and fit perfect (and hasnt fallen apart!!)

i ordered my O2 eliminator dp from RNR Racing as well....ryan was very kool n i ended up getting the dp in about 1 week since the day of payment. i have a couple questions tho. what oil filter are you guys running? ryan told me my fram was kinda too long n that i might have clearance problems. also, where did u guys get ur gaskets? i need a gasket for the O2 n mitsu duzn't carry one that big. tried napa too....no luck. how did ur installs go? key word from ryan was "liquid wrench"

I have no problems with any of the Fram filters. I used a extra tough when I first installed it, now I have a tough guard... no problems with either.

Also the ATR units don't have flex section either. Anyway are welds are fine.

Just to let everyone know we have a lot of updates to the web site and added a lot of new products we are selling. Check them out and we also are having a sale on most products including downpipes, etc. Please check back often as we are adding new pics and products daily so that everyone will know exactly everything we have. All aftermarket items like EMS, MSD, etc are either in stock or will be shipped very fast.

The install is easy, all you need is a socket wrench. I've been using Purolator L10193 (the big ones) and I have plenty of clearance. For the gasket I was too lazy to head to the Mitsubishi dealership so I just got a generic exhaust flange gasket from Pep boys. It took a few seconds with a wood file to make it fit the downpipe studs.

Objectively, here's my experience:

16th June: Ordered 3" O2 eliminator exhaust.
12th August: Recieved 3" turbo back exhaust.

Quality: As an engineer in the aerospace industry...well... the auto industry is on another plane (pardon the pun :)... it does appear there's a mix of SS and non-SS piping throughout...<sigh>...as if receiving a non-O2 downpipe wasn't enough... FYI, a couple returns out of 600 is far higher than six sigma levels of 3.4 out of one million which is what larger companies and many smaller ones strive for.

Regrets?: I live in Indy for chrissakes, I should've had it built locally. But I wanted an O2 eliminator built by someone with experience. Ryan drives what he builds.

Installation: Looks like a 30 minute job, if that. 8 weeks ago I took a reciprocating saw to the OEM system...so it has to fit.

Customer service: Important and Ryan does well. I've worked in "boutique" type production before. It's difficult enough without even factoring in the customer service end.

Hopefully this adds to the database of information as people shop for exhaust systems, and what to expect when they finally get them. Keep in mind, it is 2003 as this is written. If you're reading this 2 years from now, this may not apply.

Ya, Thomas it was our mistake if you got the wrong order and we take all blame. Someone out there got a 3" elim turbo back when they should have gotten a standard. We will do whatever to make the situation right.

We had a big problem getting 3" flex sections for a while. There are a lot of you are aware. Orders got slowed because of this big time. We have at least 10 completed orders that where just waiting on the flex sections for almost 2 weeks. Problems with Fedex, suppliers, etc, etc.

I am just letting you know that we will take care of you and we stand behind what we sell.

Also the system in fully aluminized. There isn't any stainless steel piping. It does have a stainless muffler and tip though.

Let me know if there are any other questions and sorry for the wait, Ryan

Since I have not gotten any returned calls....I assume that you guys are not shipping my (Matt Szabaga) order to Ohio anymore as I stated...If you do, I will be asking for you to pay the shipping from OH to FL.

Matt, we received your message and noted that it needed to be shipped to your Fl address. In the future if you need to get a hold of us asap then just shoot us an email. Thanks Ryan

hey, i got my pipe on friday, and ill say, it is truly master crafted, wothy of song, im suprised it dosnt glow when orcs are about...

anyway, there is a slight problem with some of the other stuff i ordered, but if ryan is readign this thread still, ill shoot you an email when i look under the car and see whats up,

thanks alot, great product.

Well as long as everyone is stating their experiences with RNR I figure I might as well do the same as it might make a difference in the way someone spends their hard earned money. It looks like Im not alone when I say that I had to wait a month and two weeks to get my turbo back exhaust. I ordered it in late May and got it in mid July. When I start to put it on my car it seems that it won't be long enough. Well as it turns out it wasn't. I was missing the 2 foot or so piece of piping that replaces the cat on the exhaust. I had to wait a month and a half to get this thing and I'm missing a piece?! Well the car is my daily driver so I had a local exhaust shop hook me up and get me on the road. I told Ryan what happened and he reluctantly agreed that he would refund me $40. He wanted to send me the pipe but I had no use for the pipe seeing as how I had already put the exhaust on my car, he said that he understood and he was sorry about the inconvenience. I would have gladly waited for the section of pipe but I can't afford to wait another month for a piece of pipe. Well It's September 3rd now and I have not seen the check he promised to send me. All the emails I try to send him now get returned to me saying the address doesn't exist, even when I had used it the week before. This was only my experience with RNR but it looks as if I'm not the only one that has had problems with the company. Excuse my long windedness but I hope this review at least raises some eyebrows about the credibility of RNR Racing. Thank you.

We are sorry for the problems you had with the order. I just couldn't justify sending a couple hundred dollars for a small 2 feet pipe that was our fault. I really don't know what happpened at all. I don't know how we forgot a 2ft section. This was a little while ago that this happened and I am sorry for the problem. I guess we all make mistakes at some point.

Like I have said before we stand behind our work. In the past we have ahd problems getting orders out quickly. It was aminly because we were working in a very very small shop. We have since moved into a much larger shop with a couple more employees and we are now able to work a lot more hours.

We strive for perfection and sometimes that takes a little longer, but almost always it's worth the wait. We stand behind our work and are always there to back up it up if there is a small problem.

We are actually running a reall big sale on 3" AWD turbo backs. We have enver had a sale like this before. We will be running afeature ad here on tuners very soon. It's for DSMtuners members. Email me for pricing on it. Also on this sale I can assure that all AWD turbo abcks will be shipped within one week of being ordered. That is saying something because we haven't been able to do that in past.

[email protected] for sale pricing

a little off topic but i have just a quick question for ryan...im about to order a 2.5" cat-back from you guys. just wondering if you have an estimate of shipping time to MA. i'd send you an email but my outgoing mail isnt working at the moment...thanks
