*Review* RNR 3" o2/cat Eliminator Turboback Exhaust.

I just got my 3" O2 elim turboback in the mail last week. I'm gonna have to wait until I can get access to a lift from a friend of mine to put it on, but so far so good from what you guys have been saying. Extreme Motorsports offers band-style clamps for coupling exhaust parts together. The traditional style tend to dent the pipe when they are put on because of the pressure in a more concentrated area.

Just an FYI. Somone else on here bought them or on DSMTalk and said they worked out really nice for making the exhaust solid from turbo to muffler. As Ryan said, the slip fittings are very tight, but this is some added assurance.

You can buy those band clamps from Summit for like $8 for a 3" version.

They are nice, but I'm not a big fan of band-aid fixes.

It gives you an option rather than the "let's weld it" (aka forever) solution. I mean, for people who want to swap in a race pipe every now and then for the track, those bands are perfect...

I still don't like them.

It's not THAT hard to unbolt 4 bolts. 2 bolts, 2 flanges.

And I don't see how they'd work over a slip fit setup, but maybe I'm wrong.

What's not to understand? The cat has about 1.5" - 2" of length on either end where the downpipe and "middle" pipe fit into it and then where the cat back section fits into the middle pipe. The bands don't go over the seam, they go compeletly on the cat itself and on the widened portion of the middle pipe where the catback portion slips in. I don't see how you think it's suspect. Here is a pic of what I mean...

RnR, can you get some pics of that system, maybe the one that is on your car or something. That side exit sounds like my kind of exhaust.:thumb:

Im also very interested in a 1G fwd side exit turboback. Does that price include the 3in o2 eliminator?
