Finally looking to take the e85 plunge, spent hours on here searching the forums and then playing with fuel flow, fuel injector and fuel pump calculators using base data from my current build. I’m 95% sure my numbers are correct but before I go hit the buy button I’d appreciate if the more knowledgeable members in e85 could verify I’m not making a mistake with what sizing I came up with.

1g w/ manual trans.
2.3l stroker
Comp 272 cams
Ported FP 68hta v1(47lbs/min)

Input data:
Base FP: 37psi
Boost: 25psi
Fuel type: E85

Results:
Injector size: 1387 @ 80% duty cycle.
Pump size: 226 * 20%= 271.2lph.

Purchase size options:

Injector: 1440cc
Pump: 310 lph

My advice is run FIC hi-z 1650s or an equivalent ID injector, Walbro 400/450/525/535 pump, and 8an to and from the rail. That setup will cover 99% of DSM builds.
Great thanks for the advice. I’m looking at pricing right now. Im mostly familiar with walbro and fic so I’ll stick with those two vendors. See the fic 2150’s are actually cheaper than the lower rated options. Also the 535 is really my only option through walbro that I can find, I’m guessing I won’t need to worry about over fueling as long as I do upgrade the lines to -8’s and have my afpr set properly running that big of a pump and injectors?

Overfueling is my only concern and why decided to pick just enough pump and injector.

also, im just now getting back into dsm’s as I was big into them back in the dsmtalk.com and everyone ran a GM maf w/translator days(if that doesn’t show how dated I am and a bit behind the curve, LOL. Finally just upgraded to SD on link)… I was always taught it’s not very effective or efficient to run an injector under or above the 70-90% duty cycle?
