E85/16g/Emanage/1000cc injectors running awesome

Congrats, 26psi on a evo316g feels insane. I'm also running the evo3 16g at about 25psi daily on e-85 and 1000cc injectors. Car feels super fast.. I think im around 21degrees timing with about .4 knock, but only when my boost spikes. This is also on an old tired motor.

Yea he is running on the stock motor when he bought the car. Car reads 200k miles. But we believe the motor was swapped at one point. The car had a 13g turbo on it when we bought it from an auction.

He gets maybe two spots on the logger where 1 count pops up of knock. Are you the guy that has a 12.1 1/4 mile on a 16g/e85 setup?

Hell id be happy with even just 23-24 psi with 25-26degrees timing daily, wouldnt even need to push it further, id probably just take advantage of some higher compression if I built the motor...

Car is still running great. We pulled a little timing out. It was really only maxing at 28*, not 30* like he told me. Anyways now its hitting about 26* just to keep some egt down.

Dyno sheet will definently be coming. Track time may be a little while, since he is still running a tired stock tranny. Its kind of hard to get through the gears.

His car is still running great. He told me a ws6 tried to play the other night and it was just pitiful. Anyways Im jealous of this stuff and I want it.

Im going to through in a maf-t and some 950's and max out my 190lph FP. Even if I'm not able to run more than 15psi I will still be happy. I see knock at 15psi on my pump gas tune.

I hate to dig up an old thread but how are things running with your brothers setup? With Maperformance's sale, I'm going to go with pretty much the same setup he has. FIC 1050's, E316, emanage, etc. I know I'll have to get it tuned locally but a baseline never hurts (well too much if I'm lucky). Only real difference is 90 gsx vs 99 and all the glory of having a one off system for just about everything that is...

I hate to dig up an old thread but... How's your brothers setup doing? With a little help from maperformance's sale I'm going E85 with pretty much the same setup he has. E316g, FIC 1050's, emanage, etc. Only real difference is mine is 90 vs 99 and I'll more than likely run a water to air in the sidemount location if I can get the logistics worked out. I'd really appreciate a basemap (can't hurt too much) so I can get from home to the awd tuner in Illinois. It's a real PITA to be switching parts out in the parking lot if you know what I mean. Oh and congrats on your own E85 setup. I'm looking forward to some #'s and I'll be posting mine as soon as I get some, even if they are ego-busting for me ;)
Long live the corn-fed!

edit: DOH! damn double posts...

No dyno numbers. I asked him and his answer was why waste the money when I could just go to the drag strip. Hes also mad the car still doesnt hold boost and either does mine. We cant figure it out. But now that my car is running good Im going to make him come with me and get some dyno numbers.

Car is running great though. Emanage is awesome and well worth the price.

Anyway he/you could PM me the gsc file for the emanage? I probably won't be able to just plug it in and run since every car is different. I just wanted to know what he popped in for injector size, fuel trim levels and such so I don't run too rich or lean on the drive to the dyno. I don't trust myself to tune it with a narrow band and I'm buying up other parts before investing in a wideband since the dyno will have one. I'd rather burn theirs than mine since I pay the same either way.

Thanks again and if I run into any of the same problems and find a solution I'll be sure to pass it on to you guys.

Your best bet is get a wbo2 and set your map up to your car and not use anyone elses.

Okay let's just get the basics then. Did he/you set the injector size to 1050cc with 440cc stock or did you do some voodoo math to compensate for the 75% energy factor of e85? I'm not planning on throwing 30 degrees of advance on my car just because someone else says they did :) I'm just trying to get a baseline fuel map so I can actually drive the car to the dyno (with afore mentioned WO2) and get a good solid map. Also if he/you had to clamp at any particular point so I can tell the tuner to watch for it around a certain area. I'm not trying to rip your setup off, I'm just trying to get there so I can HAVE a setup. If I just wanted to copy and paste someone else's setup I guess I could have followed the crowd with a dsmlink or a soul-eating Honda but I chose an emanage dude. I allready expect to be running pig-rich on the drive over just for safeties sake but I also don't really want to foul out all the plugs and sensors 2 miles out either.
The more DSM's that (successfully) run an emanage, the more people will consider it an alternative...

The car had 550's before and injector compensation set for 550's. We through 1000cc injectors in and without any change in tune the cruising was pretty much perfect. Just a little adjustment in the lo throttle to get a good 14.7 afr. So we left the injector compensation alone. Had to pull a lot of fuel in the hi but the emanage has no issue doing it. It has a fuel map like a full EMS, not like dsmlinks sliders.

Thanks! That's the kind of info I was looking for. Otherwise I probably would have washed the rings if I'd set the conversion for 1050cc's. On a side note from your other thread which I'm only half following (limited net time lately), have you figured out your boost problem? I think you said you couldn't hold boost or something? You think it's e85/emanage related or something else?

Thanks again for the info

Actually we believe its just the 16g. They dont like to hold boost at high levels.

Wanted to bump this thread with my own update, got my car running a BigT28 Killer (basically a B16G), 1050s, DSMLink, Walbro 255hp rewired, -6an fuel lines and billet filter.

Car is strong at 22psi and 19* max timing and I've a good amount more to go once I get the car leak and issue free

:thumb: E85

Well the car now has a megan 3" DP mounted to a catless dejontool 3" cat back with the magnaflow dual tip muffler. Turbo now hits 30psi at 4200rpms in 3rd and 32psi in 4th/5th. Turbo holds to about 24psi at 6500rpms. Holds and hits more boost but still cant seem to hold past 24psi.
