Dude I can't tell you how many times I've had to roll start both of my 2gs combined because if don't slam the #### out of the trunk that GD open door bulb stays lit on the dash and I don't own a jumper pack. Luckily enough both My garage and my dark spot at work on top of a steep enough incline to get a good clutch pop in.

It took me forever to figure out where my power was going, Then it was like omfg...

You only need like 3 mph to do a bump start ;). I dont have to slam my trunk tho..closes pretty easily...
 
Mine closes fine, but the sensor that turns off the interior lights doesn't get good contact unless slam the ever living bajezus out of it. Its gone now though. My interior lights only come on if the driver door is opened or the switch is pressed.

I usually need to be doing at least 8 or so get a good bump start in.
 
I got this one yesterday....

I then dropped him off at his house and reflected on what I had just heard. I felt like crying it was so depressing

I did something like this over the weekend. I spent about 20 mins between finding my test light and checking all the fuses, trying to figure out why my passenger window would not go down. Come to figure it out, the window lock was on. I felt like such a retard.

In my defense, in my dd Nissan Frontier, you can control the passenger window with the driver controls with the window lock on. My dsm has been off the road since Oct. '08 as well.

Bahahahahahahahahahahaha. I did that last week too. I was so worried, I couldnt figure it out and i was driving a friend and he tried to roll down the window and asked what was wrong, I said, I dunno im gonna have to get it checked out nothing is fixing it... He sat there for a second, looked over at the driver panel pressed the window lock button, rolled down the window and just stared at me. I felt like killing myself LOL
 
Not dsm related but going to go get oil with a friend and a buddy of his that I didn't know.
Friend: what oil should I run in my minivan?
Me: idk. Just throw some cheap 10w30 in it. You don't need much anyways.
Friend: well I was told to run something with letters in it.
Buddy in back seat: yeah! That sae mumbo jumbo at the beginning makes it synthetic and it's stupid cheap! Get that!
I didn't want to argue with the kid about it so I shut up and let them do what they did.

I had a good one last night at work.

A guy walked in and saw pics of my car on my desktop.
DA- What kind of diesel engine is that?
Me- UH. Its gas. An Eagle Talon....the same as an Eclipse.
DA- Oh I saw the turbo and thought it was a diesel. Are you building it like a F&N?
Me- No. A clean, subtle build.
DA- I had one that was AWD.
Me- If I could find one thats next on the list or an Evo.
DA- Mine was slow. It wasn't turbo.
Me- ?:confused: What was it?
DA- Looked just like yours. Are you going to put a wing on it?
Me- What you see in the pic is what it is.
DA- If its going to be fast you better upgrade your brakes.
Me- Yeah your right.

By the way DA =dumb azz LOL
My car has 3kgt vr4 tt brakes on all 4 corners. I guess since they say Mitsi on them then they're stock.

I love mindless chatter. It makes me feel smarter.
 
I just did my compression at school on my lunch break. So alls well with 160 across the board. I tell this kid who said he had a GSX awhile ago.

His response...

"Oh man thats nothing my gsx would have like 280, and over 300 if i upped the boost. But you have to remember it was fully built."

my response, Oh yea man sounds good...

God, I at least hope he wasn't the one who built it.

I was talking to a guy from work about people we might know and he brought up a guy I knew of but never meant, and he said "Yea he's the one with the grey twin turbo laser, we did like 150 on freeway before" ROFL
 
haha i posted on that thread last night. all i said was explain how my cummins runs 45psi with a 66mm charger and 0 vacuum at idle then...
p.s. for anyone who does not know cummins has no throtal body and runs full air flow from moment it starts...

But for my real story. A stage 3 turbo on a eclipse with air bags. Still havent seen the car or have the kdi come up with answer as to what size a "stage 3" is... But i guess this car pulled away from my buddys 387whp turbo gsr...
 
When I was looking for a project car I went down to the Springs to pick up a none running 99 gst. I was talking to the guy and he told me why it wasn't running, Mind you it was a stock turbo 4g63 engine with an exhaust, that was it

Me: so what's up with it?
Guy: Threw a rod bearing
Me: cool no big deal I'll put a 6 bolt in anyway
Guy: ya I mean it was a great car, never had an issue except when I was shifting above 8 thousand rpm

No wonder the rod bearing gave up. Surprised he didn't float the valves into the pistons, snap valve springs, and a plethora of other issues that could have arisen by pushing a stock engine past 8k
 
Alright, I have a few good stories from a friend who drives a '98 rs n/t. A bit of a background for him. He installed an AEM intake because it gave him 20 hp, a civic sounding fart cannon, a cf hood, cf turbo spoiler, looking to get cf doors :confused:, and he has a blitz bodykit on the car... The first time I showed him my car he asked "where the turbo button is." :ohdamn: I held back and explained to him that the turbo runs off of exhaust gasses, no button needed. A few days later he was texted me that he wanted to do a swap that he heard of. It was a "rare complete evo engine swap that could be done with $900." I couldn't even reply to him...now he's talking about getting a garrett gt35r ROFL :beatentodeath:

Him: Good just finished up my GST should run 11s
Me: What all is done to it?
Him: Evo 3 turbo, FP manifold, 1200 cc injectors, 255lph fuel pump, 3inch exhaust with a cut out, gutted with a 5 gallon fuel cell, but im going to put a 12 gallon one in, keydiver tune, FMIC, and MBC.
Me: Cool you sure you will run 11s?
Him: Yea i ran 14.1 bone stock on a 13g with just a 3 inch exhaust.
Me: Ahhh cool (trying not to laugh)
Me: Whats done internaly?
Him: Its Bone stock even has "Head Bolts"
Me: And how much psi you going to run?
Him: 28psi all day if i dont run 10s or 11s im going to be mad.....


More info on this dude, he has a 1g TSI AWD sitting with nothing getting done to it just needs some TLC and he said he took the turbo and manifold off of it because a GST is "Faster"

Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but the 420a is a mitsubishi motor, it was originally designed and built in japan, the 4g63 is the successor to the 420a, and honestly all they did was swap the side the motor went on and lowered the compression so as to accomodate larger turbos. This fact is pretty obvious if you do a rebuild of both, you can use all the 4g63 internals, you just need to make some minor adjustments so that the opposite direction of rotation. The reason that it is mostly chryslers that have it is because of the complicated tradeoff involved in the mmoa buyout of the chrysler shares of dsm. No offense guys, but if you're really planning on bashing a motor, i would personally suggest that you get all the facts before you decide to do it.
