ECMlink DSMLink logs(caution: slow child tuning)

I've BLT's to 19lbs before blowing the tester apart. I've had it at 15-16lbs for tuning's sake.

I only have one segment of piping, albeit rubber, between the MAF and the TB. I've been over that damn thing so many times.

I'm just at a ####ing loss. The car isn't a dog, but I feel like one; chasing my tail.

Boost Leak after the MAF. It could be any pipe connection, vacuum leak, brake booster line, intake manifold gasket...etc.

As for the knock, it looks real to me. First things first...

1) Check base timing. Make sure it is set correctly at 5 degrees BTDC
2) Calibrate the MAF once you fix the leak. If there is no leak, then you will need to adjust the WOT dial on the Translator to reduce more airflow.

Thanks for the reply. Timing is set properly, so it looks like I'll need to BLT with a new tester I picked up. Hopefully this one holds. ;)

Now, to find time to work on this thing...

BLT finally done. timing verified.

BLT'd up to 20lbs and heard a violent hissing...forgot to eliminate the dang Hallman MBC. Bypassed it, and pressure held well.

I'm going to try and retune, but I do have a question for the 1000cc PTE users. The ECMLink wiki recently got an update that included global and deadtime for the PTEs (to be treated as 940cc), but the deadtime is WAY off from what I saw Jeff using, and I think from what Pat is using. Thoughts on this before I go a-loggin'?

Yeah, my deadtime is set at 315 for my 1000's.

I would do just like your doing. Zero out everything and start over. Maybe we will figure something out.

You can really see how much free time I have to tune, huh?

;)

Waited for the temp to come up, zero'd fuel, left timing pretty much on a 2g map, kept it out of boost, zero'd MAF settings beyond the 50hz.

Log attached. (Warning: it is damned long)

I will look at the log later once I get to my house.

I was thinking about your situation. You said the vc is vented correct? If so, do you want to test to see if that is causing some of the problems? Easy way to test it is to just take the hose off the pcv valve and block off the hole so no air can be sucked into the intake manifold. If you do this, see if your g/rev changes(I forget if yours was low or high) at idle.

Mine is low at idle (18-20 ish).

Kris, I'm responding to that thread on our forums now. I just came across this thread and then saw it was continued on our forums, so I just followed up there instead. Let's get this resolved.

Thomas Dorris

Thanks Tom. I have a FMIC/3bar to go in here soon, so I may have different airflow reading come Sat/Sun if I eliminate any phantom leaks, etc.

On Tom's advice, I have upgraded to v.3 software and not a boost leak has been found since the FMIC upgrade. I've misplaced my MAP sensor, but hope to have that in very soon. New cruise logs are up on the Link link (LOL) and this thread will simply be used as a placeholder/reference for folks that may be as inept at the Link thing as I am.

2.5 months later I've gone back to trying to tame the beast. The link to the Link forums should still be working. Pop over and help a brotha out.
