DSM Link? Some help Please

Im am looking to put dsm link in my 98 gsx i know i need the dsm link itself and a 95 gst eprom ecu but is there anyhting else i will need?

anything related to this subject would work.

The ecu needs to be socketed... And to run DSMlink you need a laptop, as you probably know.

well yea i knew the laptop but where would i get it socketed

Or you can try to find a socketed ECU from someone in the classifieds.

Depending on how old of a laptop you get, you might need a USB/Serial port cable. Don't go to Circuit City or Radio Shack and bunch of money on them there because they suck. You will do just fine with one from Wal-Mart.

Also depending upon what type of horsepower levels you are trying to push your car to, you might need a 3.5 bar map sensor. And most importantly, if you plan on tuning yourself you need the basic knowledge about fuel, timing, and air fuel tuning.

i know this is a newb question, but where excatly is the ecu? how do you remove it?

Behind the radio way in there. 2g's have 4 bolts and the harness in order to remove it.
