2G Driveshaft Yoke Missing/Damaged Spline?

Is the driveshaft yoke supposed to have a missing spline? I can't seem to find any good pictures or answers online right now.

I pulled the transfer case to inspect it (destroyed) and found this when I inspected the driveshaft yoke for leaks.

New oem yoke kit from when I rebuilt my ds. Idk why it’s thats way

The missing spline is there to vent air as the yoke moves in/out on the output shaft
