I have noticed that my driver side foot well area gets really hot, almost to the point the my legs start to burn if i don't have the blower on. It almost feels like the heater is constantly on. What could be causing this? I see no plugs missing from the firewall that might let the heat in. I thought it was the cat but the floor doens't seem hot just the area right near the firewall. please help!

So..does it feel like it's coming from the vent when you put your hand down there? Or is it just hot when you touch the foam and such covering the firewall?

I feels like it is coming from a vent or something, the heat seems to be concentrated to a small area. Can't eactly pin-point the source of the heat though.

I once owned a 1994 Cutlass Supreme, had the same problem then i realized it was because i had the temperature control set to the warm side, and the venting system was set to the floor vents. As well as i had it on the flow-through instead of the recirculating the air already inside of the car method. But if it still does it when it's not set like that, that wouldn't be the problem.

DSMs don't have water valves. The heater core is always hot. Check your air control doors, and more especially, the cables which operate them. You probably have one that's seized up and has bent the control wire.
