My 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse cranks but doesn't have any spark I already replaced the ignition coil

How are you testing for “spark”?

And more info please. What engine? Did it happen out of nowhere?

Step 1 use a test light and test EVERY fuse inside and outside of cabin.

Key on

Good fuse = power on both fuse legs
Bad fuse = power on 1 leg
Fuse not in use = no power to either leg.

By legs i mean staring at the fuse you see the rating in center and on left and right you see a small piece of aluminum.

When you turn the ignition switch on do you get a Check Engine Light of about 5 seconds and then turns off?

When I turn the car to the on position i do get the check engine light but it doesn't stay on

The engine is the 4g63 non turbo and when it happened I was driving up the hill to my house then all of a sudden it lost power still running just very poorly then it just shut off ab 5 second later

so figured out what happened the timing belt got torn to pieces. The shop i took it to so that it could be worked on was supposed to replace it which they didn't. so yeah

$$$$ is what now. It had to have taken out most of the valves, ouch. :(

Time to pull the head and see exactly how much damage there is.

Don't let them cheap out on you. If the head has 6T OEM valves in it, it should be replaced with the same thing.

You were charged for a timing service, but did not recieve the service? Tell that shop to call 1-800-FUC-KYOU

I would take it somewhere else, don't let those fools near your car again. But indeed make them pay the tow bill and repair bill. Wouldn't put it past a shop like that to just put a new belt on and hope it runs, when they realize it doesn't then your car is sitting on the backlot for months with no intention of being fixed... I'm a forgiving person but that doesn't sound like an "honest mistake" and I've seen it happen again and again. It's the same brain dead logic as these 5 minute lube shops. You get charged $9 for an oil filter but they don't even replace it because "I'm sure the customer will never remove the skid plate and check". "I'm sure he'll never remove the timing cover to see if we put a new belt on". Who knows, maybe you could say it flattened your rod bearing and end up with a fresh long block. Petty business hits a damn nerve...
