so i just got it, 90 talon, 2.0 n/t, $250. couldnt pass it up. heres the history(or at least what they told me), overheated on the interstate, had a head gasket put on, couldnt pay the bill and let it sit for a year. the guy got it out, it ran fine, sold it to my wifes friends friend. he drove it for a while, did a timing belt and now it doesnt run. i redid the timing belt cause he only had the cams in time, nothing else. the secondary belt was fine though, kinda weird to me. it had bad spark, so i checked the plugs, ngks with broken tips. did bosch plugs and wires, now its got great spark. checked fuel, flows quite nice, put five new gallons of mid grade in after draining a gallon or so of crap gas. turns over nicely but doesnt fire. checked compression, cylinders 1,3, and 4 hove nothing, cylinder 2 has 30 psi. it always backfires a real nice fireball out the intake that is really good for getting rid of your eyelashes, eyebrows, and beard, haha, its funny... i pulled the plugs and turned it over again, turned over at way higher rpms that ever! so im wondering if its possible that the cams are 180 degrees out? maybe thats why when i turn it over it throws fireballs out the throttle body? i checked the tps, works great, ect works great, ecu? the guy also put in a new cam or crank sensor, it seems like there is no exact name for it. i tried to test it but only see a diagram for a four prong flat connector, obviously a 91 and up. i dont have wire diagrams, so i dont know. is it resistance or volts, and across what terminals? im no dsm god, but ive worked on some cars before. wanna get it running before i take my BFH too it, and i need help, any info or suggestions?
