I'm in the process of prepping my car for the dyno, and I went there last weekend when a few of our guys were getting tuned. The tuner said that I should try to find a way to disable the kickdown solenoid, otherwise the tune will be crappy down low. I dont want/need a shift box, as I have no interest in manually shifting the car. Would it just be a matter of finding the kickdown wire on the TCU and putting a switch inline to shut it off? I know on cars with a kickdown cable it's just a matter of taking the cable off, but seeing as kickdown is controlled from the TPS i know it's a little more complex in this case. I'd appreciate any help.

Update: I did some poking around, and apparently if you pull the TCU fuse the car will stay in third gear. My car is broken right now so I have no way to verify, if someone wants to go try i'd appreciate it. If that's the case, and the car doesnt go into limp mode that'd work fine.

Yes pulling the tcu fuse will putt he car into 3rd gear..But might not be the best way to tune the car..Since your also going to only have third gear...

I have a cheap easy solution..Not as cheap or easy as pulling the fuse..But will still give you gear selection at about a 10$ price..

Check your pm's in about 2 minutes...
